MY OXFORD YEAR - An Emotionally Touching Tale

My Oxford year is a truly heartfelt movie. After watching this movie I couldn't help but sit still on the couch, reflecting on my life. It felt as if the movie had a message for me. It delivers a strong message. One of which left a lasting impression on me. Which is "life is short, it's not about the amount of time you have left but how you use it that matters." Honestly when Jamie Davenport said this in a part of the movie, it struck something within me.

This plot centers around a girl, Anna De La Vega who has dreams of studying in an Oxford university. She had her whole life planned out right from when she was a kid. And then everything was going so well and well for her until she stumbled upon Jamie Davenport. I find their first encounter or meeting to be quite funny

The charming young man and star of this movie is a professor who is battling with a genetic cancer and has had so little time left to live. He is fully aware of it and is bent on making every moment he has left worthwhile, doing what he loves best rather than staying in the hospital, undergoing treatments upon treatment. The father however doesn't really understand how one would give up without even trying and gets angry at his son.
When Jamie and Anna collide you could literally see the chemistry between them. I love how they make it look so real and romantic. Emotionally, this movie got to me. I also love the cinematography in the movie very much. They did a very good job in bringing Oxford university and its perks to the screen. Neither might I forget to mention the impeccable British accents.
My Oxford year has forever changed my view on life. “Living deliberately” as they called it, is about making every moment count, not planning your whole life, because you never know what tomorrow brings. The themes about loss, grief, love and family hit deep. There is also a lesson to be learned about regrets. As Jamie Davenport rightly put it. I don't regret my actions, the only ones I regret are the ones I didn't make.
I sincerely love this movie. I could go on and on about this movie but you really need to watch it for yourself. There are thousands of lessons to be learned here. It was painful to see Jamie die at the end, but Anna's growth and transformation at the end was worth it. Sometimes some people just come into your life and change the course of it. If you are really into Romantic movies especially as it is the weekends, My oxford year would be a great movie to watch. I give it a 10/10
