An Argentinian miniseries with Robert De Niro speaking Spanish? That's probably why a lot of people are encouraged to watch "Nada" (including us).

But the standout is legendary actor Luis Brandoni, with his brilliant portrayal of eccentric food critic Manuel Tamayo Pratz.

His character structure is typical of an 80-year-old man, elegant and proud, and he always counts on the help of his employees in everything he does.

For decades he has lived with a lady who does everything for him, a sort of personal assistant, housekeeper and cook.

One day, the lady dies and he realises that he doesn't know how to do anything at all.

He decides to hire a very inexperienced and naïve girl from Paraguay, whom he has to instruct from scratch about the innumerable questions of his life.

This miniseries is a darkly humorous take on friendship, redemption and old age. It showed us the beauty, the food and the rich Argentinean culture of Buenos Aires.

The whole cast is amazing, especially De Niro. In addition to being the narrator, he also co-starred in the final episode and was instrumental in how the story ended. The 5 episodes are less than half an hour long and can be watched in one day.
