This is a French-Israeli film directed by Thierry Binisti and based on the novel of the same name written by Valérie Zenatti.

The story follows a young woman named Tal, played by Agathe Bonitzer, who lives in Jerusalem and decides to send a bottle with a message to the Gaza Sea as an attempt to establish contact with an unknown Palestinian.

As the plot unfolds, Tal begins to receive replies from the mysterious Palestinian through emails.

Through this correspondence, the two characters explore themes such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, tolerance and hope for a better future.

The film attempts to tackle serious and complex issues, but in my opinion, it falls a little short in its execution.

The narrative is predictable and the characters fail to connect with me emotionally.

Furthermore, I find it a bit naïve to think that a simple bottle in the sea can solve the problems of such a deep-rooted and complex conflict.
