Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors, too, but on the other side, Zooey Deschanel isn't on that list at all... š Regarding the movie, I liked the idea and the plot, probably because I have identified myself as Carl, the guy who mostly says NO to new things... š I suppose that's the "secret sauce" of the movie as many people are like that, staying in the comfort zone without too much hassle with new challenges, experiences, but also commitment and responsibility...
Yes, the story is a bit shallow, but it is very relatable to many...

I'm very happy to know that we share the same tastes regarding comedy movies. As far as Jim Carrey is concerned, he is definitely one of the best actors that exist today, and I'm not just saying that as a comedian. I'm also glad to know that we share the same opinion about the character of Carl; those of us who identify with him know how it feels.
