Synopsis:
25 years pass of a duel between a hero and his rival, Samaritan and Nemesis respectively. Where, both die according to the perception of the population. But, a 13-year-old boy has the idea that his neighbor is Samaritan, the hero he admires and wants him to leave his ordinary life to face the chaos of today.
Samaritan and Nemesis are brothers, the former inclined to do good and protect humanity. While the second was invaded by revenge and rage. Both had been orphaned at a young age because their parents had been burned by the community. The only way for Nemesis to fix everything was in a duel to the death, where in full view of the world they die in a plant fire. Within the rubble are the remains of the masks worn by the characters, as well as a Hammer forged from the rage and hatred of Nemesis.
25 years pass, it seems that the memories had been buried. However, Sam, a 13-year-old boy, did not give up or forget that his great hero was alive. Until one day, he has a violent encounter with some gang members in the area, Joe Smith (Neighbor) realizes what happened and intervenes to help the young man. The boy notices that to his amazement, the man demonstrates many heroic abilities and immediately associates him with his great model hero, the gangsters are left despondent and frustrated.
Sam is impressed and gives him the title of Samaritan. Despite this, Sam does not stop mixing with people from gangster life, which causes him to get into trouble with the wrong people. Samaritan tells Sam about values, decisions and the boy becomes confused between what is most reasonable and correct vs. money and economic stability that low relationships with gang members could give him in a fleeting way.
On the other hand, one of the leaders of the gang seeks to sow anarchy in the city under the name of Nemesis. From his gang friends, he learns of the existence of a Samaritan and wishes to confront him, he kidnaps Sam and uses him as a decoy. Joe goes to the site and is attacked by an army of armed men, the fire is lit and he is affected by the flames. In the middle of the fight, Joe reveals to everyone that he is not Samaritan, but Nemesis. Those present are surprised and then he kills the gang leader, saves Sam from the flames and disappears.
Thoughts around the movie:
It's not an incredibly remarkable movie, but it's also not one you get bored of and decide to change. The narration and the plot is simple, perhaps the development of the story is not very exciting, but I consider that at the exact point of emotion, the story that the viewer had been following turns around. Right in the fight and meeting with the boss of the gang, it is revealed that the real Nemesis is him and that he has always been the bad guy. Expectations fall, but at the same time hopes are based on the positive change of the character.
From a stopped look, Sylvester Stallone, who plays Samaritan who is actually Nemesis (Confused 😵), demonstrates a character with a deep, analytical and strong character. It is not difficult to associate Stallone with a hero, but the difference of the character that is denoted in the film is that his origin is the comics and in this version of Samaritan he flies and moves, just as the famous "Superman" would do. ". But in the film, he only denotes super strength and great jumping ability.
I guess we could add Samaritan to a different list of superheroes, where they aren't born from gene mutations derived from radioactive animals or the like. But rather, characters that are born with differentiated superhuman abilities.

Hasta que un día, tiene un encuentro violento con unos pandilleros de la zona, Joe Smith (Vecino) se percata de lo sucedido e interviene a auxiliar al joven. El chico nota que para su asombro, el hombre demuestra muchas habilidades heroicas e inmediatamente lo relaciona con su gran héroe modelo, los pandilleros quedan abatidos y frustrados.
Sam queda impresionado y le confiere el título de Samaritan. Pese a esto, Sam no deja de mezclarse con personas de vida bandalista, lo que ocasiona que se meta en problemas con la gente equivocada. Samaritan le cuenta a Sam sobre valores, decisiones y el niño se torna confundido entre lo más razonable y correcto vs el dinero y estabilidad económica que pudieran darle de manera fugaz las bajas relaciones con pandilleros.
Por otro lado, uno de los cabecillas de la pandilla busca sembrar la anarquía en la ciudad bajo el nombre de Némesis. Por sus amigos pandilleros, se entera de la existencia de un Samaritan y desea confrontarlo, secuestra a Sam y lo usa como señuelo. Joe, acude al sitio y es atacado por un ejérccito de hombres armados, se enciende el fuego y se ve afectado por las llamas. En medio del combate, Joe revela a todos que no es Samaritan, sino Némesis. Los presentes quedan sorprendidos y luego asesina al jefe de la pandilla, salva a Sam de las llamas desaparece.
Pensamientos alrededor de la película:
No es una película increíblemente notable, sin embargo tampoco es una de la que te aburres y decides cambiarle. La narración y el trama es simple, quizás el desarrollo de la historia no sea muy emocionante, pero considero que en el punto exacto de emoción da un vuelco la historia que venía siguiendo el espectador. Justo en la pelea y encuentro con el jefe de la pandilla, se revela que el verdadero Némesis es él y que siempre ha sido el malo. Las expectativas se caen, pero al mismo tiempo se fundamentan esperanzas en el cambio positivo del personaje.
Desde un aspecto detenido, Sylvester Stallone, quien encarna a Samaritan que en realidad es Némesis (Confuso 😵), demuestra un personaje de un carácter profundo, analista y fuerte. No resulta difícil asociar a Stallone a un héroe, pero la diferencia del personaje que se denota en el film, es que el origen del mismo son las comics y en esta versión de Samaritan vuela y se desplaza, tal como lo haría el famoso "Superman". Pero en el film, solo denota super fuerza y capacidad de grandes saltos.
Supongo que podríamos agregar a Samaritan a una lista diferente de superhéroe, donde no nacen desde mutaciones genicas derivadas de animales radioactivos o similares. Sino más bien, personajes que nacen con habilidades superhumanas diferenciadas.

Not a superhero fan but with this plot I find it to be quite interesting since the characters seem to not just go around to rescue people in capes or costumes. Nice review, I'll add to my list.
