Oh powerful love!, that sometimes makes a beast a man, and other times a man a beast.

Nate is a doctor by profession and has two teenage daughters, one named Meredith and Norah. The girls' mother and Nate's ex had recently died of cancer and things were in turmoil emotionally. The girls had various resentments towards his father, one of them blaming him for their mother's death. In the process of uniting the family and clearing their minds, they decide to take a trip to Africa, where the village where the girls' mother was born is located and they had a good friend of Nate's there.

The arrival at the friend's house was welcoming, his name is Martin and he feels great appreciation for the girls. As part of the trip, he takes the family for a walk around the site and they get up close and personal with the pride of lions in the area. Martin is a guardian of African fauna and has noticed the very recent existence of poachers. They decide to visit the village and find the gloomy context that all the inhabitants had been killed, the wounds seemed to be caused by a lion, but Martin refused to believe it.

They left the village to look for help and they find a wounded villager, he tells him that the cause was a Lion and Martin goes out to help him and chase the culprit. It doesn't take long for Matin to end up hurt as well, leaving Nate and the girls in dire straits as they want to save him. In that, Meredith goes to Martin and brings him back to the truck, while Nate gives a battle with the Lion. Since then, there have been different encounters with the beast, whom he killed for pleasure and not for hunger. Martin and some poachers in the area indicated that the Lion showed that courage for humans because his entire herd had been killed.

Nate is seen in one of the final parts of the film in the terrible decision to face the enraged lion, luckily he was already in the territory of another pack of lions that Martin had raised, they save him as they are the ones who face the Lion unhinged A few minutes later Nate goes into shock and faints, Martin's friends and guardians of the African fauna arrive to save him. The girls are rescued and all are treated at a hospital.

Thoughts around the Movie:

The film shows a couple of complex life situations:

🔥 One is where it reflects that human behavior based on selfishness and ambition, sow death in its wake. The Lion went mad when he lost his pack and figured himself out as a clawed avenger. I think that this is not so much science fiction, similar cases have been seen.

🔥 Shows us how situations of danger and tension, confront us with real emotions and feelings. In the case of the girls, beyond continuing with the emotional pain of losing their mother, they focused on healing wounds and resentments with her father, whom they feared losing under the bloody claws of a beast. At the same time, the father, in the role of his protector, showed his daughters that there was nothing more important than them in the world.

In addition to those two macro teachings, I can add that the film has an amazing scenery and landscape development. I love that context of light and aridity of the African landscape, it made me dream of traveling, but without the presence of the furious lion, of course.😅

As for the cast, I can point out their good performance in terms of the corresponding role. Honestly the emotions they conveyed were well developed, when I watched the movie I was afraid because the lion will kill them all and I think the girls (Meredith and Norah) felt the same.😫

Another detail that I should mention is that the film, despite showing a scenario with a touch of fiction, did not explicitly abuse the context. That is to say, there weren't wildly exaggerated scenes in the story, but rather events that were very attached to "possibility". Undoubtedly this is a good film, I think that on a score of 1 to 10, I could add about an 8. And it is that, sincerely, it maintains the plot and the suspense of death stalking the characters.
