Review: Two Movies, Two Demons: The Cursed Gift and Jack in the Cursed Box. Terror in sight.! [ENG/ESP]

Items that have curses and unleash chaos on humanity have always existed. These types of objects and even people are mentioned in the Bible and it suggests that they have that characteristic because they are an "abhorrence of God." Nevertheless. Beyond being just a Bible story, many have recreated stories and scenes from disturbing cases related to cursed objects. Some of the examples I will mention here:

In both movies, the setting of the story is directly related to an object that serves as a medium for a demon that uses it as a doorway to our earthly world. The moment the user does some kind of common action, he establishes a pact with the demon without even knowing it. However, not everything is negative, even the person who makes the pact must be protected, the devil cannot kill him.

The Cursed Gift

Eva is a young professional dancer who has a car accident, this confines her to a wheelchair and a life of bitterness. Sophie, her best friend gives her an advent calendar on her birthday, a very unusual gift. At first, it didn't seem like anything unusual, but Eva realizes that every door she opens on the calendar offers her a candy or chocolate, she must eat each of them. But she, whenever she eats one, she triggers events in her life. Most of these events are negative or marked with blood, there are times when the demon contained in the calendar forces him to do deplorable acts in order to restore his "ability to walk"; but if she refuses to do them, the demon manifests itself and threatens to break her deal and kill her as she initially refused.

Eva chooses to walk again, but in the course of this, many people around her die. Among these: The former boss, a couple of acquaintances, her best friend, William (the man Eva liked), the stepmother, the father and her pet. These last two were killed directly by Eva, her father was shot and her pet was killed with a knife. The girl seemed disconcerted, she had caused so much damage to the people around her, but she couldn't stop the unleashed curse until the last door of the calendar was finished opening. Without a doubt, a spooky Christmas Eve.

The film begins when an older man had as a hobby to look for treasures in the field, for this he used a metal tracker. One day, he comes across a wonderful box that appears to be an antique and happily returns home with the find. He shows the box to the wife, it turns out to be a surprise doll box and she is delighted, she turns the handle and a demon clown comes out who murders the woman and drags her into the box. The man is dismayed, the police do not believe what he said about it and sentence him to 10 years in prison. In order to get rid of the box, he sends it to a museum as a donation.

At the museum, there is a new guy working and looking for relics to display, he comes across the box and opens it; thus unleashing a sea of ​​murders. According to what the boy investigated, this type of toy came from medieval times and was spread to spread evil on earth. Jack, the demon of the box had to kill 6 people and then return to his confinement. However, Casey looks for the possible way to avoid so many deaths, but nobody believes him and they take him for paranoid. In desperation, he visits a demonologist and he indicates a ritual, Casey puts it into practice with the desire to save his friend Lisa. The efforts are lost, at the end of the movie Lisa is dragged into the box by the demon clown.

Los objetos que tienen maldiciones y desatan caos a la humanidad siempre han existido. Este tipo de objetos y hasta personas, se encuentran mencionadas en la Biblia y sugiere que tienen esa característica porque son un "aborrecimiento a Dios". Sin embargo. más allá de ser solamente historia de Biblia, muchos han recreado historias y escenas a partir de perturbadores casos relacionados a objetos malditos. En ambas películas, el entorno de desarrollo de la historia se relaciona directamente con un objeto que sirve de medio para un demonio que lo usa como puerta para pasar a nuestro mundo terrenal. Al momento de el usuario hacer algún tipo de acción común, establece un pacto con el demonio sin siquiera saberlo. Sin embargo, no todo es negativo, siquiera la persona que hace el pacto debe ser resguardada, el demonio no puede matarle.

El Regalo Maldito

Eva es una joven bailarina profesional que tiene un accidente automovilístico, este la confina a una silla de ruedas y a una vida de amargura. Sophie, su mejor amiga le obsequia en el cumpleaños un calendario de adviento, un muy inusual regalo. Al inicio, no parecía nada anormal, pero Eva se da cuenta que cada puerta que abre del calendario le ofrece un dulce o chocolate, debe comerse cada uno de ellos. Pero, siempre que come alguno, le desencadena hechos en su vida. La mayoría de estos sucesos son negativos o marcados con sangre, llegan momentos en que el demonio contenido en el calendario, le obliga a hacer actos deplorables en vías de devolverle la "capacidad de caminar"; más si se rehusa a hacerlos, el demonio se manifiesta y amenaza con romper el trato y asesinarle como ella se rehusaba al inicio.

Eva, opta por volver a caminar, pero en el transcurso de esto, mueren muchas personas a su alrededor. Entre estos: El ex jefe, un par de conocidos, la mejor amiga, William (el hombre que le gustaba a Eva), la madrastra, el padre y su mascota. Estos dos últimos fueron asesinados directamente por Eva, a su padre le disparó y a la mascota le asesinó con un arma blanca. La chica parecía desconcertada, tanto daño había causado a las personas que le rodeaban, pero no podía detener la maldición desencadenada hasta que se terminará de abrir la última puerta del calendario. Sin dudas, una víspera de navidad tenebrosa.

El film inicia cuando un hombre mayor tenía como pasatiempo buscar tesoros en el campo, para ello usaba un rastreador de metales. Un día, se topa con una caja maravillosa que parecía ser una antiguedad y regresa feliz a casa con el hallazgo. Muestra la caja a la esposa, resulta ser una caja de un muñeco sorpresa y ella queda encantada, le da vuelta a la manivela y sale un payaso demonio que asesina a la mujer y la arrastra a los adentros de la caja. El hombre queda consternado, la policía no le cree lo que contó al respecto y le condena a 10 años de prisión. En manera de deshacerse de la caja, la envía a un museo como donativo.

En el museo, hay un chico nuevo trabajando y buscando reliquias para exhibir, se topa con la caja y la abre; desatando así un mar de asesinatos. Según lo investigado por el chico, este tipo de juguete provenía de la época medieval y era esparcido para difundir el mal en la tierra. Jack, el demonio de la caja debía asesinar a 6 personas para luego volver a su encierro. Sin embargo, Casey busca la manera posible de evitar tantas muertes, pero nadie le cree y lo toman por paranoico. En el desespero, visita a un demonologo y éste le indica un ritual, Casey lo pone en práctica con el deseo de salvar a su amiga Lisa. Los esfuerzos son perdidos, al final de la película Lisa es arrastrada al interior de la caja por el payaso demonio.
