I suspect the problem is precisely this unbridled desire people have to belong. To belong to the tribe, to the flock and to blindly follow the herd of sheep in search of recognition and validation among its members, regardless of where it leads them.

In a consumerism society where precisely that same sense of belonging they seek forces them to constantly disguise themselves with the same outfits, the same uniforms, the same smells, the same aromas, the same looks, the same schemes, the same artifices and the same behaviors, each time distancing themselves more and more from who they really are in order to be accepted or have the illusion of being better accepted by the herd.

And yeah, luckily the internet has opened a gateway with access to more information to be able to find, dissect, compare, contrast, analyze, and evaluate what is real from what is unreal and what is right from what is wrong. Well, at least for those who are truly curious and still have a brain with the will and the patience to find the truth.

Because unfortunately, historically and socially, the search for originality and authenticity has never been very popular or well-received by the members of the flock. And generally, this tendency to show yourself as you truly are has always been challenged, censored, punished and ostracized by the herd.

But yeah, let's be a bit more positive and optimistic in believing that there are and always were more people in search of originality and authenticity than we once thought and that now with greater access to much more information at their fingertips, many more with enough brain, patience, willingness and curiosity will begin to wake up from the whole farce.

Agree mich, let is be positive. And even when the herd stay in the commonly accepted way of living, there is always room to be different. I do believe one can always find ways to not fall into the trap of whatever we don’t want to be in for most of the time. Living outside society is possible. Living outside the system is somewhat possible. And where the system is needed, I try to think to the lines of: Use the system to our advantages, but do not let the system hold you hostage. Interesting times ahead of us, that is a given🎶
