Reseña: La casa del dragón // Review: House of the Dragon
Game of Thrones es una de mis series favoritas de los últimos años, con grandes personajes, historias, giros, etc; así que esta precuela enfocada en la casa Targaryen cuando eran los reyes de Poniente, fue una serie que quería ver. Estrenada este año en HBO, la historia se basa en un libro de George R. R. Martin, Blood and Fire.
Game of Thrones is one of my favorite series in recent years, with great characters, stories, twists, etc; so this prequel focusing on House Targaryen when they were the kings of Westeros, was a series I wanted to see. Premiering this year on HBO, the story is based on a book by George R. R. Martin, Blood and Fire.
Sinopsis: Viserys Targaryen, el rey actual de los siete reinos, tiene un problema, ya que es incapaz de tener un hijo varón que le suceda; debido a eso él tomará una decisión que intentará mantener durante toda la serie, que su hija Rhaenyra sea quien lo suceda, como reina. Esta decisión hará girar todo tipo de eventos, que darán un preludio a una guerra que enfrentará a una misma familia.
Synopsis: Viserys Targaryen, the current king of the seven kingdoms, has a problem, as he is unable to have a male child to succeed him; because of that he will make a decision that he will try to keep throughout the series, that his daughter Rhaenyra will be the one to succeed him, as queen. This decision will turn all kinds of events, which will give a prelude to a war that will confront the same family.
La trama como indica la sinopsis, parten en la decisión que Viserys toma, y cómo diferentes personajes actuaran con ello en mente. Hará enfrentar a las que comienzan siendo amigas, Rhaenyra y Alicent. Por lo que se ve en esta primera temporada, los personajes involucrados son los más cercanos, familiares, casas y políticos que más cerca están al rey. Ya en la 2da supongo que ya habrá una mayor cantidad de locaciones y personajes.
The plot, as the synopsis indicates, starts with the decision Viserys makes, and how different characters will act with it in mind. It will confront those who begin as friends, Rhaenyra and Alicent. From what is seen in this first season, the characters involved are the closest, relatives, houses and politicians who are closest to the king. In season 2 I suppose there will be a greater number of locations and characters.
La trama es entretenida, si bien al comienzo sabe a poco. Mientras más se van delineando los personajes y ves lo que se trama detrás de todo, acabas disfrutándolo más. Lo malo, es que si lo comparas con su predecesora, todavía está en debe. Principalmente en los personajes, ya que no hay uno que sea tan entretenido y carismático de ver como lo fueron Tyrion o Arya. Su toque de violencia, sexo y humor un tanto negro, siguen en la serie.
The plot is entertaining, although at the beginning it tastes little. The more the characters are delineated and you see what is behind everything, you end up enjoying it more. On the downside, if you compare it to its predecessor, it's still lacking. Mainly in the characters, as there isn't one that is as entertaining and charismatic to watch as Tyrion or Arya were. Their touch of violence, sex and somewhat black humor, are still in the series.
La producción al ser HBO, la calidad está descontada. Los escenarios, vestuarios, música, fotografía e incluso el CGI, tiene buenos resultados, y es fácil entrar a este mundo fantástico y no desconectarse. Los dragones a diferencia de la anterior serie, aparecen desde el primer capítulo, y muchas escenas se notaran impactantes con ellos.
The production being HBO, quality is a given. The scenery, costumes, music, photography and even the CGI, has good results, and it is easy to enter this fantastic world and not disconnect. The dragons, unlike the previous series, appear from the first chapter, and many scenes will be striking with them.
Esta primera temporada, si bien tiene unos puntos negativos, como la falta de mayores personajes interesantes y locaciones; no deja de ser entretenido de ver, y que te deja con muchas ansias de ver su 2da temporada. Recomendable.
This first season, although it has some negative points, such as the lack of more interesting characters and locations; it is still entertaining to watch, and leaves you eager to see the second season. Recommended.
