[Movie] Beethoven's 2: The Ultimate Scolding of All my Existence 😐😐, Memory Review

“Beethoven 2” is a movie I saw way back in the '90s—it feels like an eternity ago. I was in elementary school and all I cared about was playing. I was doing fine in school until this movie arrived at my house on VHS 😅😅, My dad took me to the video store one Friday, and I chose The St. Bernard Dog—I’d already seen the first movie on TV and really liked it. I’ve always loved dogs 🐶🐶.

My mom and dad knew I had an important test on Monday, and they kindly told me to study after watching the movie 🤗🤗.... and I did study.... but on Sunday night, because what I actually did was waste the whole weekend watching the movie like eight times over and over again.... I never learn to stop putting things off until the last minute—look at me here writing this review on the very last day, haha 😜😜

I laughed with delight watching Beethoven's antics with his girlfriend and puppies; it's a movie that uses the typical “pet” formula to appeal to a young audience but still managed to entertain adult viewers.

For example, the villain is a pretty attractive, striking, and exotic woman with snake-like eyes and an intense gaze. I really liked her, with her domineering and cruel personality… I think I like women like that. Good thing I haven’t gotten married yet, because she’s the kind of woman who’d mistreat me, haha 🐍🐍

Plus, there’s a scene about a hamburger-eating contest that still makes me laugh today 🍔🍔. I don’t want to give too much away so I can encourage you to watch the movie as a family—especially if you have kids who really love pets, particularly dogs in this case.

The movie was really funny and all, but when my dad asked me how I did on the test and I told him I did really badly... Oh my gosh, Santi, I had to run all over the house because my dad was going to hit me with the belt—you can imagine it just like when Homer was chasing Bart, haha 😅😅

I think parental scoldings aren’t bad as long as there’s a limit—I’ve heard some horrendous stories—but lately I’ve noticed a tendency to exaggerate, dramatize, and overpunish, pushing the limits to the point of absurdity. This raises kids who won’t be ready for life or who take advantage of their parents’ passivity.

This movie—that’s the memory that brings me back, Muchachon @wiseagent and with that, I’m inspired to enter the contest for the community. Remember, friends, don’t leave everything for the last minute just because you’re watching movies over and over and over again 😁😁👍🏻

I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.

You're right, this movie has that special something that kept kids entertained with the lovable Beethoven and his antics, but it also had characters and situations that adults could enjoy without getting bored. It's that formula that many family movies from the '90s pulled off so well. I'm sorry to hear about your dog! I also got to watch it on VHS, and I know exactly how nostalgic it feels when we look back on these classic films.
