Have you ever wondered what the year 2100 will be like?.... Take a moment to reflect on it and share your thoughts in the comments, because to me itās incredible that back in 1927āin the last centuryāthe first black-and-white silent science fiction film touched on and explored current topics like the concept of artificial intelligence, taking it to an even higher level.... what I would call a āState of Artificial Lifeā š¤š¤
Metropolis is the title of this classic 1927 film that really makes me thinkābecause while we may now have cell phones and ChatGPT, etc., as a social system or community structure, we remain anchored, boundāif not chainedāto the same agonies of the past.
I mention this because the film is pure science fiction from the 1920sāthe last centuryāand its story explores social problems in which an oppressed majority suffers under the boot of a refined and ruthless elite.... So is the film futuristic, or are we, as a society, archaic? šš
Haz pensado en algun momento como sera el aƱo 2100?.... animate a reflexionarlo y plasmarlo en comentarios porque para mi es increible que en el aƱo 1927 del anterior siglo, la primera pelicula en Blanco y Negro Muda enfocada en ciencia ficcion, tocara y ejecutara temas de actualidad como el concepto inteligencia artificial llevados a un nivel aun mas superior.... uno que yo llamaria Estado de Vida Artificial š¤š¤
Metropolis es el titulo de esta antigua pelicula del aƱo 1927 que me hace reflexionar mucho porque quizas ahora tengamos celulares y ChatGpt, etc pero como sistema social o estructura de vida en comunidad seguimos anclados, atados por no decir encadenados a las mismas agonias del pasado.
Lo anterior lo menciono porque el film es ciencia ficcion pura de la decada de los 20 pero del siglo pasado, que desarrolla en su historia problemas sociales donde una plebe mayoritaria oprimida sufre bajo la bota de una Elite Refinada e Inclemente.... entonces el Film es Futurista o nosotros como sociedad somos Arcaicos šš
Iām sharing the trailer because I think many of you wonāt believe me when I mention that this story features a machine as an artificial intelligenceāthereās a Thinking Machine in it. Some of you will catch the reference to Dune; itās quite impressive, but incredibly, thatās not the only thing the film has to offer. Many thanks to @josemalavem for letting me know about this work by director and visionary Fritz Lang.
The film suggests that our society can be viewed as a human body: to function, thereās a brain that thinks and a limb that carries out that thought. For example, our hands allow us to use tools; weād have nothing without them because we wouldnāt be able to build everything around us.
The problem with the Brain is that it is very selfish and unscrupulous; it doesnāt consider the value of the rest of the being, and as a result, our hands end up submissiveāslaves to the Brainās desires.
Metaphorically and romantically speaking, all of the above is balanced by the Heartāwhich embodies our feelingsāreminding the Brain that it must be kind and reminding our hands that they are of great value.
The film essentially builds its central conflict around this premise while also exploring personal conflicts.
Les comparto el Trailer porque pienso muchos no me creeran al mencionar que en esta historia hay el elemento maquina como una inteligencia artificial, alli esta una Maquina Pensante, algunos captaran la referencia a Dune, impresiona bastante pero increiblemente eso no es lo unico que ofrece el film. La pelicula plantea que nuestra sociedad se puede ver como un cuerpo humano, para funcionar hay un cerebro que piensa y una extremidad que ejecuta ese pensamiento, por ejemplo nuestras manos nos permiten manipular herramientas, no tendriamos nada sin ellas porque no seriamos capaces de construir todo lo que nos rodea.
El problema del Cerebro es que es muy egoista e inescrupuloso, no piensa en el valor del resto del ser y por ejemplo nuestras manos terminan sumisas, esclavas de los deseos que quiere el cerebro.
Todo lo anterior metaforica y romanticamente hablando lo balancea el Corazon que es en si los sentimientos, le recuerda al Cerebro que debe ser bondadoso y a nuestras manos les recuerda que tienen un gran valor.
El film basicamente desarrolla todo su conflicto central en torno a lo anterior a la vez que desarrolla conflictos personales.
The inventor Rotwang, striking that powerful pose in the image Iām sharing, is the one with the greatest personal conflictāone that escalates regardless of the masses of innocents who fall victim to his rage and resentment. Aesthetically, heās a very striking villain who reminded me a little of Darth Vader
Now, the best part of the film for me is Brigitte Helm, who does it all in the movieābecause the Machina concept isnāt just brought to life through her.
Brigitte Helmās various characters showcase the satanic, pagan, mundane, and saint aspects of our societyāthe good and the bad, both of themāsince faith can never be absent, even if it takes the form of debauchery mixed with sin, revelry, and holiness.
Believe me, Brigitte Helmās facial and body expressions will surprise you; the thumbnail shows only a tiny fraction of what she and the film have in store for you.
El inventor Rotwang que hace esa gran pose de poder en la imagen que comparto es quien tiene el mayor conflicto personal, uno que escala sin importar las masas de inocentes que sucumban ante su ira y rencor, esteticamente un villano muy llamativo que me recordo ligeramente a Darth Vader
Ahora, lo mejor del film para mi es Brigitte Helm que hace de todo en la oelicula porque no solo se ejecuta el concepto Machina a traves de ella.
Los distintos personajes de Brigitte Helm muestran lo Satanico, Pagano, Mundano y Espiritual de nuestra Sociedad, lo bueno y lo malo, ambos ya que la Fe nunca puede faltar asi sea en forma de libertinaje mezclado con pecado, algarabia y Santidad.
Las expresiones faciales y corporales de Brigitte Helm creeme que te sorprenderan, en la miniatura esta una minima parte de lo que ella y el film ofrecen para ti.
