Lazarus, es una miniserie británica de suspenso, de apenas seis episodios de 45 minutos cada uno, creada para Amazon Prime Video por Harlan Coben y protagonizada por un psiquiatra forense (Sam Claflin) quien investiga asesinatos sin resolver, pero antes de entrar en el tema, quiero presentarles a los pilares de esta historia, los rostros que le dan vida a la tensión que sentà de principio a fin:

But before we dive into the details, I want to introduce you to the pillars of this story, the faces that brought to life the tension I felt from beginning to end:
Hay momentos en los que uno se sienta frente a la pantalla buscando distracción y, de repente, se encuentra con una historia que te atrapa de una forma casi magnética desde el primer segundo. Eso fue lo que me pasó con Lazarus. Haciendo scroll en Instagram, me encontré con esta recomendación que busqué de inmediato.
Desde que comenzó, sentà cómo el suspenso se me instalaba en el pecho, llevándome por una montaña rusa de sensaciones que no me dieron tregua. Pasé de la duda más profunda a esa adrenalina que te mantiene al borde del asiento, intentando descifrar un rompecabezas donde cada pieza parece estar cargada de una intención oculta.
La trama de Lazarus va mucho más allá de un enigma sobre una desaparición congelada en el tiempo; es un viaje emocional que te obliga a cuestionar la fragilidad de los vÃnculos y el peso real de los secretos.
There are moments when you sit in front of the screen just looking for a distraction and, suddenly, you find a story that grabs you in an almost magnetic way from the very first second. That’s exactly what happened to me with Lazarus. While scrolling through Instagram, I came across a recommendation that I immediately went looking for.
From the moment it started, I felt the suspense settle in my chest, taking me on a rollercoaster of sensations that gave me no truce. I went from the deepest doubt to that adrenaline that keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to decipher a puzzle where every piece seems to be charged with a hidden intention.
The plot of Lazarus goes far beyond an enigma about a disappearance frozen in time; it is an emotional journey that forces you to question the fragility of bonds and the real weight of secrets.
Lo que más me impactó fue cómo la narrativa logra que el pasado se sienta como una presencia viva, un ruido de fondo que no deja descansar a los protagonistas. Me vi sumergida en esa búsqueda de respuestas, sintiendo la asfixia de esos personajes que no son héroes de acción, sino seres humanos profundamente reales. En este sentido, me sorprendió muchÃsimo la versatilidad de Sam Claflin; estamos acostumbrados a verlo en papeles mucho más suaves o románticos, como en Yo antes de ti, o incluso en roles más contenidos como el hermano de Enola Holmes, pero aquà se despoja de todo eso.
Su caracterización es tan fuerte y visceral que logra transmitir esa angustia de quien carga con una culpa que no le pertenece. Cada escena tiene su razón de ser y un porqué en este ritmo que te atrapa; es una invitación a mirar de cerca las grietas de la naturaleza humana. En varios momentos me encontré conteniendo el aliento, no por una escena de acción, sino por la tensión de un silencio o de una mirada que decÃa mucho más que cualquier diálogo.
What impacted me the most was how the narrative manages to make the past feel like a living presence, a background noise that gives the protagonists no rest. I found myself immersed in that search for answers, feeling the suffocation of these characters who are not action heroes, but deeply real human beings. In this sense, I was greatly surprised by Sam Claflin's versatility; we are used to seeing him in much softer or more romantic roles, like in Me Before You, or even in more restrained roles like Enola Holmes' brother, but here he sheds all of that.
His portrayal is so strong and visceral that he manages to convey the anguish of someone carrying a guilt that doesn't belong to them. Every scene has its own reason and purpose within this rhythm that hooks you; it’s an invitation to look closely at the cracks in human nature. On several occasions, I found myself holding my breath—not because of an action scene, but because of the tension in a silence or a look that said much more than any dialogue.
Es fascinante, y a la vez aterrador, observar cómo una tragedia puede detener el reloj de una vida entera. En varios momentos me encontré conteniendo el aliento, no por una escena de acción, sino por la tensión de un silencio o de una mirada que decÃa mucho más que cualquier diálogo.
Visualmente, desde mi punto de vista, esta serie es una joya que abraza esa sensación de aislamiento. Cada escena tiene su razón de ser y un porqué en este ritmo que me mantuvo atrapada; es una invitación a mirar de cerca las grietas de la naturaleza humana.
Al terminarla, me quedé con una reflexión que todavÃa me da vueltas: a veces, el mayor misterio no es descubrir qué pasó, sino entender cómo somos capaces de seguir adelante cuando el suelo se nos ha movido. Es una pieza que recomiendo a quien esté dispuesto a dejarse sacudir emocionalmente y a entender que, para sanar, primero hay que tener el valor de mirar de frente aquello que creÃamos enterrado.

After finishing it, I was left with a reflection that is still spinning in my mind: sometimes, the greatest mystery isn't discovering what happened, but understanding how we are able to move forward when the ground has shifted beneath us. It is a piece I recommend to anyone willing to be emotionally shaken and to understand that, in order to heal, one must first have the courage to look directly at what we thought was buried.
