Kill Chain

Not a big fan of Nicholas Cage, although I was long ago, but the moment his way of speaking seemed to me as if he always suffers from constipation, somehow I lost interest. No disrespect anyway.

But I really liked this one.

Premiered in 2019, Kill Chain shares a story about several killings in a single night followed by contract killers, corrupted cops, rivalry, and eventually, a desperate attempt to leave the chaotic life behind. Quite suspenseful and action-gripped simultaneously. Not that I’m only fascinated by the bang bang but the narrative hooked me right. And the girl, I loved her way of seduction anyway.

Apart from all the actions, I liked the mystery kept till the last quarter of the movie. While the protagonist was unfolding the untold truth about some absent but important figure, the action sequence followed perfectly. At the same time, disappointment came in the form of ‘how NIc is getting everything in his favour?’ It’s not uncommon though— heroes get everything under their control but this could be more thrilling seeing some ups and downs. There is a greater story that pushes the story through, viewers can sense that and hints are given through flashbacks, but, elaborating more on them might make the foundation of the movie more captivating. Nevertheless, good job.

Filmed in a shady environment, mostly in a 1-star motel, the movie didn’t hit me as boring as I thought. Rather, it’s a decent one packed with gritty actions punching the attention most of the time. Either the gunfights or the suspense in the air— or say, the woman; you have enough options to have a reason not to quit watching.

Surpassing the enjoyment, I really liked how money plays a crucial role in keeping everything going despite the odds— even in a life-threatening situation. Actually, it’s the prime cause we all are motivated. But beyond that, fatherly figure shone brightly. Irrespective of what anyone does, there is always a sweet spot reserved for family. Friends too, although not so strong, but yeah, friends are what we care about most right after family. And this is why we still have some lights shining inside us, otherwise, our humaneness wouldn’t sparkle as many of us don’t have the privilege of belonging to a family.

Anyway, Kill Chain is rewarded with a 5/10 IMDb score— not fair in my opinion, could get more, like 6 or something closer but not more than 6.5. It was a good watch after all. And I hope you will bag a thrilling experience watching this too.
So, be my guest.

Be my guest, you will enjoy it no doubt. But cannot guarantee how you will react to Nic's way of talking, could be you won't notice at all.

Haven't heard of it and I'm now intrigued! There are a few Cages that I really like. Knowing, City of Angels and the Family Man are my favorites.

I think the way he talks is mostly because he does it nasally? Not sure. Thanks for sharing and much !love

Cage is a talented artist no doubt but I cannot ignore the way he talks, maybe I am too naive to put him into my list of favourites...

Thank you for your interest, hopefully, you will enjoy the movie.
