A decent thriller. Yeah, that’s my one-sentence verdict about this movie. In many of my “movie posts” I have repeatedly highlighted how elderly artists are dominating the 2022’s movies and following that trail, here is Lou, masterfully performed by Allison Janney even at this age.

However, if it were a slow-paced family drama, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her dominating the storyline but in an action film, especially in such a wet condition, performing flawlessly is just more than just a performance— you need to foster it in your DNA to do that.

Here are a few reasons why you should watch the movie:

Scenic Beauty—

A big storm in the background followed by a heavy downpour and a dense forest with danger at every footstep— you cannot but fall in love with the scenic beauty of the movie is filmed in. Although there are only a handful of scenes being shown repeatedly, such a lash of greenery filled my eyes with tenderness. Hopefully, you will love it too.

where sea meets the trees; quite a view to behold

Action; a lot of it—

The weather itself is chaotic. Action is in the DNA of every artist out there. They know their ways of fighting and obviously, ways of survival. Sometimes you may feel like there is more turbulence than necessary/logical. But what to expect in a fictional action thriller, right?

A Bunch of Thrilling Experiences—

A mysterious old lady with a shady lifestyle. Surprisingly, the mystery remained unrevealed until the last quarter of the movie which is a good sign. Otherwise, the thrill it intends to deliver would be lost. You will be glued to your seat to learn more about the next step— the plot is twisted enough to captivate its viewers for a good 109 minutes.

Easy to Digest—

Not all action movies come as clean as this. Fair use of weapons and fist-fight. There is no gore, nor is there any nerve-wracking killing. But you won’t feel the absence of violence. To be specific, you can watch and enjoy it easily without being distracted by noise and exaggerated baffling.

Don’t watch this if you are—

Too obsessed with Einstein-logic of things to happen. After all, it’s a movie; don’t expect things to go as per the universal law. Don’t question the tracking scenes through the forest during heavy rain. Just ask if you have enjoyed it— forget the real-life logic. And of course, don’t ask how could a mother abandon her son to save her own as*. It won’t work here, unfortunately.

Yes, I confess there are flaws. But I am okay with them as the whole movie seemed to me “better than I thought it would.” It’s a good movie to watch, in my opinion.
