The Bad Guys: An Animation Film for Family

Do I wish people didn't see us as monsters? Sure, I do. But these are the cards we've been dealt, so we might as well play 'em.

The perfect example of how our attitude and stereotype belief force and shapes the behaviour of individuals around us. The Bad Guys shows us that good things are not only meant to happen to pure souls, sometimes with a little inspiration and persuasion, the brighter side of a poisoned soul can also be illuminated. But it requires the right person to step in, just like Diane Foxington in the movie.

I really liked this one.

Although I favour every animated film featuring subtly detailed characters, the reason I liked this movie is beyond Zootopia-alike characterisation or even the setting with vivid colours. I have found a sense of dedication, willingness to stay true to friendship, and an inner struggle to fight evil— those are what make a movie truly aesthetic.

However, the plot is a bit longer. For a moment, I lost enthusiasm to continue watching this. But to reveal what happens next, you got to finish it, right? Without those few moments, I believe I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. The acting, story, characters, and flow— I have nothing to complain about. A solid 8/10 from me if I am to review the movie.

As mentioned earlier, there are similarities between Zootopia and The Bad Guys if you consider the characterisation. Almost similar. The central characters, including the fox and wolf, the cop character— all are closely related. Again, I have found the essence of the Batman movie in the dialogue of the police chief—

I've just realized that I've devoted my entire adult life to putting you in jail. You are my purpose. Without you, who am I?

But to improvise, here’s what the scriptwriter added afterwards—

Ah, just kiddin'. This is the best moment of my life! It's the end of the Bad Guys.

I am not saying they have copied it but you know, just noticed. Even if you consider these silly matters as the flaw of the movie, I am sure countless LOL moments will cheer you up. Although you can predict some scenes way before it happens, you won’t find them disappointing— a good thing about this animated masterpiece.

As it’s the holiday season and most of us are spending more time with families, why don’t you give it a try along with kids? They will love it without a doubt.
