RE: [Movie] My take on RUSH [ESP//ENG]

It’s a great movie; I had the chance to see it, and I was impressed by how they recreated the 1976 Formula 1 season and how they portrayed the rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt—two very contrasting personalities, but also two extraordinary drivers. The film stays true to many historical events, which is appreciated because what happened to Lauda—the accident scene and his recovery after being given a terminal prognosis—is incredibly moving, both in reality and in fiction. I know a little about the real story, and Lauda’s determination to return to the track and then retire in Japan—choosing to value his life over a title—is admirable. Perhaps fate would reward him by letting him win the 1984 championship. The performances are very good, although the producers made Hemsworth’s portrayal of Hunt a more decent character than the real-life driver was—I suppose to avoid overshadowing the main story.
