Wolf Children

credit

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you to a wonderful anime, which is related to fantasy, such as possessing the power of transforming into a wolf. The story is about wolf children who were raised by their human mother. It is a sweet story about single mothers. Every single parent can find this anime movie relatable. It is very hard to raise children alone, and we often don't realize it because we don not get to see their perspective, but this movie will give you the chance to experience it very well. Wolf Children will touch your heart with just small moments, as there is no need for big ones.

This is one of the best movies ever made. I have watched plenty of movies, and none compare to this anime movie. This is absolutely a masterpiece that must be appreciated by everyone. I am glad I discovered anime through my niece; otherwise, I would have missed out on so many things. The storyline is sad yet beautiful. I watched this movie with my daughter, and she loves it. You will find many moments where silence speaks louder. Even watching the trailer again makes me tear up. I am not exaggerating at all this movie truly changed my perspective on single mothers.

The story begins with Hana, a college student. She falls in love with a man who can transform into a wolf. Despite their differences, they still choose to build a loving life together. As time passes, Hana conceives two children. Yuki is the older sister of Ame; both of them inherit their father's ability to transform into wolves. Hana faces many difficulties raising them, as she also has to keep their secret safe. In order to provide her children with a stable life, Hana moves to the countryside because she cannot let others find out about her children being wolves. As her children grow, they face challenges with their dual identities. Yuki and Ame are totally opposite from each other, Yuki wants to fit into human society, and Ame wants to live in the wild. Hana finds it hard to deal with both of her children because they are not like other normal human children they are unique, as they can transform.

We see Hana being selfless and trying to cooperate as her children deal with self-discovery. It is hard for Hana to let her children be independent because she's scared to lose them. She always wants to protect them even as they grow up, but when it's time, everyone has to let go. Hana has unconditional love for her children, which every parent has. But we get the chance to walk in Hana's shoes and feel what she’s going through.

If you ask me what makes Wolf Children so powerful? Then I would say that it has quite realistic portrayal of motherhood. Hana is a single mother and her journey is filled with so many sacrifices and unconditional love. She gives her best to protect her children from the world but also let's them follow their own path. Moreover, the animation is absolutely phenomenal which makes the story more beautiful. Even though there are some scenarios of silence but the audience could understand everything without hearing it verbally. This anime is a tribute to the parents who does hard work to take care of their children.

I have seen countless heart-wrenching animes, but this one hits differently. This anime will leave you with a bittersweet experience. I cried while watching this anime; my tears were filled with happiness and sorrow. I never cry, but I just could not hold back my emotions. I just fell in love with the whole movie, and even if there were any flaws, undoubtedly I would ignore them. No matter how old this movie gets, I would still rewatch it plenty of times. If you want to have a good time or want to spend your leisure time, then this movie is going to be a great choice.

One thing I didn't like was that the siblings grew up to be totally different from each other, and there's not such a strong bond seen between them. I would have liked it more if I had the chance to see more brother-sister moments. Also, I felt bad for the mother, she craved her son. Actually, it's hard for parents to acknowledge that their child has grown up, but the sooner it's accepted, the better the situation will be. Yuki and Ame were both following different paths, and Hana was supporting them, as all parents should.

I would reccomend everyone to watch this anime movie because it's worth the time.

Thanks for Reading

A very beautiful film that addresses the themes of growing up and following one's instincts in a poetic way, and how a mother raises her children alone after a tragic event 😢
