The Marvels Trailer is Here
Captain Marvel 2 is actually The Marvels. This Marvel movie has all three Marvel named female characters in it: Carol Danver's (Brie Larson) Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) who was the original Captain Marvel in the comics and is now going by the Photon I believe and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) who is Ms. Marvel. The trio are now the co-leads of the movie. Nia DaCosta is the new director that has been brought on to the direct the sequel. It looks like she doesn't care about the former lead as much as she does the new co-leads as the opening shoot of the trailer is that of Rambeau and Khan. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is also back, which is great. And Goose is also back which is awesome. But this trailer has very little Captain Marvel in it which is odd to say the least.
Still, this trailer looks like a lot fun and like is much more lighthearted then the previous Captain Marvel movie and I like it. It also looks like we are going to see an incursion in this movie, or something similar on a multiverse scale. I think that their powers are switching them places because of the Multiverse collapsing thing. But that's just my personal theory. We can see not just a jumping point in the trailer, but also a really big hole in space next to it. Could be something that has to do with the multiverse. It could be nice to see something of the multiverse again in the Multiverse Saga. But, even without it, this looks like a lot of fun.
The main villain is not Kang or the multiverse, it is Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton) of the Kree race. It appears that she is an Accuser and that she is after Danvers. Because I think Danvers has become pretty anti-Kree. Also, she appears to be wearing the other bangle, Ms. Marvel is wearing one and it appears that be giving her powers so Dar-Benn will have similar powers. So we might end-up with a team-up movie in which the villain has the same powers as the protagonist which will give it a very phase 1 feeling. I think that there are a lot of people who wouldn’t like it. I hope the movie is fun enough and has enough cool action and humour to make up for it.
