I was at home just hanging with my brother when he and I decided to watch Shrek. I have watched Shreck many times as a kid, but I understand the movie more by watching it now.

Shrek is a comedy/fantasy movie about a lonely ogre who lives in a peaceful swamp all by himself. All is ruined when a group of fairytale creatures get dumped on his land by a prince named Lord Farquaad because he wants to be rid of all the creatures. When Shreck goes to the prince, angry at his peace being interrupted by the creatures, Lord Farquaad promises to place the creatures somewhere else if Shreck can do one thing in return: save the princess Lord Farquaad has been longing for so that he can become king.

Shrek was made by Dreamworks animation, and was directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson. The film was written by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Joe Stillman, and Roger S. H. Schulman.

(Warning, a tad bit of spoilers ahead!)

Characters:

I have to say all the characters were amazing and I loved their personalities! I hated Lord Farquaad as a kid, but as I watch it now, as a teenager, I didn’t hate him so much, as I saw why he did certain things. I hate when I understand the villain, because then I find it hard to hate them!

I really love to see more of Shrek's character and what he likes and doesn’t like as the movie continues. It shows that ogre’s have feelings too, and he’s not just some mean old hag from a swamp.

Story:

I really like how the story progressed and how it had such a satisfying beginning, middle and end. Everything went at a steady pace, and the end was just perfect!

I think Shreck is a 2000’s classic, and if you have kids who wanna see an interesting movie that is magical yet witty, Shreck is a good one.
