Air (2023) review: It's just a good movie.

Although with hand on heart it is quite evident that this is nothing more than a glorified commercial for the internationally recognized sportswear and shoe brand: Nike, it is quite difficult not to gravitate towards a film as simple and effective as "Air". , especially being a lover of sneakers and all the culture behind them.

Directed by Ben Affleck (and starring him along with Jason Bateman and Matt Damon, a legendary trifecta), Air is a film that dramatically portrays all the events that led to the legendary basketball player (Michael Jordan). ) decided to be a representative of the North American brand, creating in the process one of the most iconic sports shoes in all of history: The Air Jordan 1.

While this might sound like a fairly simple premise, the way Air chooses to focus on all the little details that made this alliance viable, as well as the staggering magnitude of the long-term consequences it had on the entire airline industry, sportswear worldwide, make this an effective trip, without the need to fall into exaggerated drama and attending to the passion of its protagonists in a concise way.

We are facing a film that is not particularly outstanding in any of its aspects, but that, at the same time, is efficient in everything that a solid flick should be: There is a good direction, they effectively immerse us in the era that is portrayed, the script is full of exciting moments, etc.

Si bien esto podría aparentar ser una premisa bastante simple, la forma en la que Air decide enfocarse en todos los pequeños detalles que hicieron de esta alianza viable, así como en la impactante magnitud de las consecuencias que tuvo a largo plazo en toda la industria de la ropa deportiva a nivel mundial, hacen de este un viaje efectivo, sin necesidad de caer en dramatismos exagerados y atendiendo a la pasión de sus protagonistas de forma concisa.

Estamos frente a una película que no resulta particularmente destacada en ninguno de sus aspectos, pero que A la vez, es eficiente en todo lo que un flick sólido debe serlo: Hay una buena dirección, nos sumergen efectivamente en la época que se retrata, el guión esta lleno de momentos emocionantes, etc.
