The Interview (2014) review: it was worth it?
Although I had the opportunity to see The Interview for the first time a couple of years ago, I find the idea of revisiting it quite interesting, leaving aside the controversy surrounding its premiere.
The reason? Although it was obviously a comedy, his way of approaching the image of one of the cruelest political figures in the modern world (North Korea's leader: Kim Jong-Un) was not exactly to the liking of the dictatorship, as a consequence, the North Korean government made several threats to its developer studio, which on the one hand ended up becoming a series of rather disgusting censorships, but on the other hand, it gave the film a very striking cult status regardless of its quality.
Obviously, I've always considered myself a defender of free speech and the integrity of a creative work should NEVER be sacrificed for the political interests of a nation, but from my first viewing it was clear to me that The Interview was a lot of noise and little. nuts, a view I would expect to see altered over the years.
In summary, we are shown the story of two journalists (played by James Franco and Seth Rogen) a little frustrated with the current state of their careers, despite having a moderate level of success they are regularly dismissed as childish and all the industry is in charge of reminding them that there is a huge gap between them and "real journalism".
Not surprisingly, James Franco's character decides that the best way to clear up all these prejudices is to travel to North Korea to interview the supreme leader, who, apart from that, is a passionate fan of his show.
The Interview's greatest virtue lies in its ability to balance satire and exaggeration with dashes of painful realism, although the official information of this nation has always been very scarce, it does not take some kind of genius to see in life real are totally poisoned by propaganda, constant violations of human rights and a level of evil so exaggerated that it almost feel like a cartoon.
Rogen and Franco take us through a brief but forceful journey where the figure of Kim Jong is constantly ridiculed, and despite his regular falls into the scatological can make more than one viewer uncomfortable, all its elements work in relative harmony to tell a simple story, silly but effective.
Of course, in thematic terms it is not a very deep work and a good portion of its jokes do not land correctly, but at the same time we appreciate its very irreverent nature.
Aunque tuve la oportunidad de ver The Interview por primera vez hace un par de años, me parece bastante interesante la idea de revisitarla dejando a un lado la polémica que rodeó su estreno.
¿La razón? Aunque obviamente se trataba de una comedia, su manera de abordar la imagen de una de las figuras políticas más crueles del mundo moderno (El líder de Corea del Norte: Kim Jong-Un) no resultó precisamente del agrado de la dictadura, como consecuencia, el gobierno Norcoreano realizó varias amenazas a su estudio desarrollador, lo cual por un lado terminó deviniendo en una serie de censuras bastante desqgradables, pero por otro lado, le brindó al film un estatus de culto muy llamativo independientemente de su calidad.
Obviamente, siempre me he considerado un defensor de la libertad de expresión y NUNCA debería sacrificarse la integridad de una obra creativa en función de los intereses políticos de una nación, pero desde mi primer visionado era evidente para mí que The Interview resultaba mucho ruido y pocas nueces, una visión que esperaría ver alterada con el paso de los años.
En resumen, se nos muestra la historia de dos periodistas (Interpretados por James Franco y Seth Rogen) un poco frustrados con el estado actual de sus carreras, a pesar de que tienen un nivel de éxito moderado regularmente se les tacha de infantiles y toda la industria se encarga de recordarles que existe una brecha inmensa entre ellos y el "verdadero periodismo ".
Cómo es lógico, el personaje de James Franco decide que la mejor forma de aclarar todos estos prejuicio es viajando hasta Corea del Norte para entrevistar al líder supremo, quien aparte, es un fanático apasionado de su show.
La mayor virtud de The Interview se encuentra en su capacidad para balancear la sátira y la exageración con pizcas de realismo doloroso, aunque la información oficial de esta nación siempre ha Sido muy escasa, no hay que ser ninguna especie de genio para ver en la vida real se encuentran totalmente envenenados por la propaganda, las violaciones constantes a los derechos humanos y un nivel de maldad tan exagerado que roza lo caricaturezco.
Rogen y Franco nos llevan a través de un breve pero contundente viaje en dónde se ridiculiza constamente la figura de Kim Jong, y a pesar de sus caídas regulares en lo escatológico pueden incomodar a más de un espectador, todos sus elementos funcionan con relativa armonía para contar una historia simple, tonta pero efectiva.
Por supuesto, en términos temáticos no es una obra muy profunda y una buena porción de sus chistes no aterrizan correctamente, pero al mismo tiempo apreciamos su naturaleza tan irreverente.

As you say, it's a satire that works very well, the best way to approach this subject was through humor and both actors have good chemistry, they were still good friends at the time. Someday all the madness and horror with which they live in that country will be known and a well detailed movie will be made. I recently saw an interview with a Spanish journalist who has managed to enter that country twice and the system of control and surveillance over the citizens is something out of a horror movie. I didn't like Seth Rogen at the time, but I have liked the actor's recent work. I think now the actors are on bad terms because after Franco was accused by some girls of possible abuse, Rogen turned his back on him.

Hay dos cosas, de los criterios en HIVE que hasta el día de hoy me cuestan, y mucho, comprender del todo. 1 ¿Cuál es el criterio de evaluación para el support aquí? 2. Veo que a los reviews de excelentes comedias, no son tan bien valorados
Dicho esto, mi amigo, @richardalexis, te puedo decir que este film es precioso. James Franco es un genio, a pesar de su vida privada, pero como actor es un dotado en todos los sentidos referidos a ese menester. Yo amo las comedias que atacan a la política y al Poder. Si bien The Interview tiene un sesgo muy estadounidense del conflicto en Corea del Norte, no menos cierto es que es un acierto hacia los sentidos. Crítica, sarcasmo, humor básico, diversión, manejo de medio masivos, lo que necesites, lo hallarás en esta peli.

Gracias por el comentario, el asunto de la valoración de los reviews siempre ha Sido un poco complicado, especialmente cuando uno trata de hablar de las películas que le gustan en contraposición a lo que sabemos que atraerá más votos.
Respecto al film es una joyita, a pesar de sus momentos vulgares (que tienen mucho sentido dentro del contexto)... y el performance de Franco es buenísimo, es una comedia simple pero termina haciendo muchísimo en términos de comentario político (Aunque sea involuntariamente).
Totalmente de acuerdo. La cuestión, también es darle calidad a la comunidad. Siempre es fácil hablar de películas o series mainstream pero hay tanto dentro del cine en sí mismo, que es merecedor de destacar y me menciones positivas. De esto se supone que se trata HIVE, "hacer los mejor, para recibir lo mejor". Y en términos cinematográficos, siempre habrá excepciones en calidad y cantidad.
