The worst movie of the year - Maid Droid (2023) review: It really is.

I have a small confession to make: since I started Hive a couple of years ago, I have tried to write reviews of practically all the movies, television series and shorts that I watch... this is a task that can sometimes become quite tedious, but in general I feel that it helps me appreciate audiovisual art from an angle that I honestly wouldn't have if it weren't for this great platform.

The idea of taking a work, reflecting on it, and putting all my thoughts into a more or less coherent piece of writing has profoundly altered my way of appreciating them, paying attention to details that I would have previously ignored, and allowing me to enjoy things that do not necessarily align. with my tastes.

There are some exceptions, there are films that I ignore, either because I have nothing interesting to say about them, or because I feel that my thoughts were so negative that there is no point in adding fuel to the fire...

However, within all these reviews I don't think there is any series or movie that has felt as incredibly empty to me as "Maid Droid", a movie that I only completed because of a stupid personal rule that doesn't allow me to leave feature films halfway.

I have always tried to recognize that not all films are for everyone, objective quality is practically impossible to calculate and what is terrible for some could be entertaining and even brilliant for others.

The issue with Maid Droid, a 2023 film directed by Rich Mallery, is that I don't understand how anyone could find anything of value in it, beyond the morbidity produced by its premise.

You see, Maid Droid tells us the story of a lonely man who was abandoned by his girlfriend a few months ago, as a result of this one of his friends proposes to hire a "servant/android", designed specifically to please the carnal needs of men. As the.

I would have wanted to ignore this film completely, considering that it is obviously a low-budget project created by a group of passionate people, logically it is easy to knock down this kind of thing... but I felt too offended with the insipidness of the final result, a movie I could never recommend to anyone.

Hay algunas excepciones, existen filmes que ignoro, ya sea porque no tengo nada interesante que decir al respecto, o porque siento que mis pensamientos fueron tan negativos que no tiene sentido ponerle más leña al fuego...

No obstante, dentro de todas estas reseñas no creo que haya ninguna serie o película que me haya sentido un vacío tan increíble como "Maid Droid", una película que solamente completé por una estúpida regla personal que no me permite dejar los largometrajes a medias.

Siempre he procurado reconocer que no todas las películas son para todo el mundo, la calidad objetiva es prácticamente imposible de calcular y lo que para algunos es pésimo para otros podría ser entretenido y hasta brillante.

La cuestión con Maid Droid, película de 2023 dirigida por Rich Mallery, es que no concibo como ninguna persona podría encontrar algo de valor en ella, más allá del morbo que produce su premisa.

Si bien es llamativo el concepto de una mujer artificial creada con fines "recreativos" que eventualmente se convierte en una amenza (Algo que por alguna razón me recuerda a Blade Runner 2077), Maid Droid no logra engancharnos en su corta hora y media de duración, sintiéndose como una eternidad.

A diferencia de otras películas malas "reconocidas" como Freddy Got Fingered o The Room, ni siquiera tiene la decencia de ser entretenida, contando con un passing bastante lento y alargando innecesariamente escenas de naturaleza incomoda.

Hubiese querido ignorar totalmente está película, considerando que evidentemente es un proyecto de bajo presupuesto creado por un grupo de gente apasionada, lógicamente es fácil golpear hacia abajo con este tipo de cosas... pero me sentía demasiado ofendido con lo insípido del resultado final, una película que nunca podría recomendarle a nadie.
