Hello friends, I'm @rinice. Today I'm going to review Frankenstein, a film directed by Gioma Dilcharo, and made entirely in her image, which is essentially an adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel.

Yes, I was a little confused about Netflix's willingness to allow Gioma Dilcharo to live out her dream—especially considering what they call such a project—is madness, and how far they can go. So, Netflix is doing that by taking even the best directors under their wing. As they say, in their hunger for awards, they're giving them everything they can. This means that Netflix has, for the time being, set aside their own wit and wit for the time being. Considering who they brought to the table to produce this film, as I mentioned, Gioma Dilcharo had been wanting to make this project for years after Pinocchio, but the studios never wanted him to make a film like this, which had already been remade so many times. Of these, I still hold the Frankenstein: A True Story film from the 70s in high regard because it was so faithful to the book adaptation. In this regard, other films have completely altered Frankenstein's image as an iconic character.

But, as I mentioned, Gioma Dilcharo was so passionate about this project that he wanted to show people the true vision Mary Shelley had for the story. Because with Trust Me on This, he has created his own take on the story. This image resonated throughout the film. However, there are some minor changes in the ending. Furthermore, the narration of the film begins at the end. After which, the film splits into two parts: Victor on one side and Frankenstein on the other, who present their own side of the story character-wise, leaving us to judge who the real monster is.

But no amount of praise would be enough for the film's opening, as the film's pacing, despite being two and a half hours long, kept it so fast right from the start that I was completely immersed in it. While many might think the film's second half, which tells the story of another character from the perspective of Part Two, actually delivers a tragic story, reminding us that this isn't monster horror, but psychological, brutal body horror, which Gioma knows how to present on screen as an art form. In terms of production quality, I can say that he, along with his team, has achieved something truly remarkable. After watching it, I couldn't help but think that Brother Gioma is widely praised for his world-building in Monsters of the World, and you can feel that in every frame of the film. This means this film scores a 10 on 10 for production quality.

At the same time, the film is a faithful adaptation that truly demonstrates the kind of project that can be created if someone puts their heart and soul into Frankenstein's vision. The creativity that Mary Shelley created for the novel was hers, and respecting that, Gioma Dilcharo has faithfully adapted it, resulting in a powerful ending, even in its tragic parts. If you're thinking about the story, well, throw it out the window, because everyone knows Frankenstein's story. What really matters here is the film's presentation. The praise I just gave you for the production quality is definitely an understatement. Because this film takes its decade and all its elements to the next level, leaving you with a distinct feeling: look, Netflix has so much money that they made this film solely for awards consideration.

But unfortunately, this film won't see the light of day in theaters in India. But whatever happens, it will definitely be a memorable film of this year. Just like Robert Eggers' Nosferatu, which, I'll say again, never disappoints with its faithful adaptation. Following the same pattern, this film, in my honest opinion, won't disappoint. Especially if you're a fan of Guillaume Dilcharo. And yes, even those who want to see a true vision of Frankenstein. But for the rest of the audience, if they have high expectations from this film, then as I said, the second half will be full of disappointments, and they'll also feel the pace of the film while watching. But for me, this film has achieved a level far different from all of them. This includes the sound design, which is also important, and the costume design, which, again, just like the sets, completely integrates with the film.

And then, aside from all this, you'll talk about the performances of the actors, the film's legendary cast. Keeping this in mind, whether any of the actors disappointed you, I'd say Mia Goth's character will be a slight disappointment. But not so much that you'll keep crying over her character. Because if I keep his slightly dull character aside, then after watching the film you will understand the level of acting done by each actor especially Oscar Isaac and how talented he is and on the other hand I think Jacob Allardyce will be in the top list of hot Frankensteins because as I said, I think this is a proper adaptation of Mary Shelley's version of Frankenstein.

Everyone I've spoken to about this character has had the same conclusion. Jacob Allardyce, on the other hand, doesn't just shout about this character, but instead injects such depth into his portrayal that it's truly memorable. Even though the legendary actor, who we'll see a lot of in this film, may be on screen for a short time, his performance remains memorable, and so are the film's lead characters. So much so that I believe the awards category will openly welcome this film, as it faces strong competition this year, not just for its content. After watching it once, I wasn't satisfied. I highly recommend you take your time with this film, especially if you're a true cinephile.

After that, let's move on to the detailed ratings, which it definitely deserves. So, for the action, I'd give this film a rating of three out of five stars. Recalling the fact that this film is a fantasy tragedy adventure filled with body horror, it's said that it takes the level up after the monster arrives. Furthermore, the film's opening was so spectacular that the action deserves this rating. Speaking of comedy, this film gets a half-star rating out of five for me.

Coming to drama, I'm definitely including a lot of elements in drama. Especially the production quality, and of course, the storytelling and character buildup. So, in that sense, this film deserves 4.5 stars out of five. Speaking of suspense, the film was already quite open about its story. However, the editor's handling of the story was a bit more nuanced. In terms of suspense, I'd again say this film deserves two and a half stars out of five, based solely on its characters.

Furthermore, speaking of the film's horror, it's abundant, but in an artistic way, which earns this film three stars out of five. To give you a quick aside about Oscar Isaac's character, he's both a scientist and a doctor, so the experiments he's conducting are truly a discovery for him, but a terrifying experience for others. If you watch the film, you'll understand exactly what I'm trying to convey. Therefore, this rating is perfectly suited for a three-star rating.

Furthermore, speaking of the mass audience, I'd say that unfortunately, the mass audience won't enjoy this film as much, but they'll still give it a B rating as a one-time watch. So, if we talk about the critics, they have already declared this film a cinematic masterpiece. Consequently, in their eyes, this film is of category A. So, I completely agree with them and, despite being a remake, I will put this truly amazing cinematic experience in the same category as an honest adaptation of the novel. That is, true cinema, which is definitely worth watching.

Unfortunately, I experienced it sitting at home. So what else, let's end it here. I will meet you soon in another one. Till then, bye. You are still here, it's over, go home.
