I always was surprised at this one too. It's one thing to make changes to a text but another thing to make such changes to a very important and dramatic scene.
I enjoyed reading this.
Have you seen Dune 2 yet? We saw it the other day. I never got past reading half of book 1 many years ago. Loved the films.

I haven't seen Dune 2 yet, no. I enjoyed the first one, changes from the book aside. I'll try to get around to seeing it soon.
The book is really good, but Herbert's writing style takes a while to get used to and that can knock you out of it. I just recently reread it before watching the first of the new films.
