RE: Is Greys Anatomy the Worst Medical Drama Ever?

I'm just really relieved I'm not the only idiot watching it! It actually does get a bit better - I think the tension between being a mother and being a surgeon, as a woman, is reasonably well done.
I totally agree that shows have a responsibility to question narratives - it's absolutely how they brainwash us. I can definitely see through it all and laugh - it is quite entertaining. I did NOT appreciate the singing episode whilst Callie was dreaming through her trauma though. Jesus H Christ on a stick, you should have seen the look on my face, according to Jamie.

I need me a bit of mind-numbing before bed. I tried House medical drama, but it pained me to watch them experiment on their patients, and to hear medical propaganda. Now I watch cop shows. High Potential is quite good, Will Trent, too. Trying the Rookie, but it's getting tedious.
Yeah sometimes they get too creative, and the episode tips over into preposterous.
When I get into bed, I hit the books - Hemingway, Dickens, Santayana and the like. They put me right to sleep. Well, not always Dickens. I sometimes can't stop reading his books.
My sister in law has now listened to all the Dickens on audio. She's English, so it's a must. I keep telling myself I'll get around to it, but I've only ever read Great Expectations. I do adore Hemingway. The sparsity of his prose is just divine. I loved For Whom the Bell Tolls so much when I was in my 20's. I really must get back to reading again.
