Black Summer (netflix series review)

Buenas buenaaaaasss a todos, feliz inicio de semana que por cierto ¡que rapido! se nos ha ido el año. Ahora que estoy viendo la fecha en mi computador, me doy cuenta que falta muy pocos días para el 2023 y esperemos sea mucho mejor que este año. Por cierto, digo computador porque he tenido que vender mi celular por cuestiones personales, así que si algún hiver conocido mío me escribe, ya sabe la razón por la cual no le he respondido.

Good morning everyone, happy beginning of the week, and by the way, how fast the year has gone by. Now that I am looking at the date on my computer, I realize that 2023 is only a few days away and let's hope it will be much better than this year. By the way, I say computer because I have had to sell my cell phone for personal reasons, so if any hiver I know writes to me, he already knows the reason why I haven't answered him.

Bueno, pero no todo es malo, porque ayer en la rutina nocturna con mi pareja nos hemos degustado una serie que si bien no es tan buena en cuanto a la trama, es excelente si eres de esos que amas estar siempre en completo suspenso.

Well, but not everything is bad, because yesterday in the night routine with my partner we have tasted a series that although it is not so good in terms of plot, it is excellent if you are one of those who love to be always in complete suspense.

¡Por supuesto! tenia que ser con zombis, no lo han dicho directamente en la serie pero es algo muy obvio cuando miras que alguien muere y se levanta de la nada con mil energías, sangre en la boca, ojos entre morado y azules, y con un hambre y sed de carne humana, es claro que no puede ser otra cosa que una ola de no humanos.

Of course! it had to be with zombies, they have not said it directly in the series but it is something very obvious when you see that someone dies and rises from nowhere with a thousand energies, blood in the mouth, eyes between purple and blue, and with a hunger and thirst for human flesh, it is clear that it can not be anything other than a wave of non-humans.

Eso de "no humanos" por cierto lo aprendí creo que fue de la ultima serie de Resident Evil y la verdad es que aún no entiendo la razón de no llamarles por el nombre que siempre se le ha conocido, supongo que debe ser algún tipo de "inclusión" al lenguaje.

That of "non-humans" by the way I learned I think it was from the last series of Resident Evil and the truth is that I still do not understand the reason for not calling them by the name that has always been known, I guess it must be some kind of "inclusion" to the language.

Debo confesar que al inicio del primer capitulo tuve un deja vu dado que tiene una cierta similitud a Resident Evil, lo digo por el ambiente ese de que la tragedia empieza por una urbanización muy acogedora de esas que piensas que no pasa absolutamente nada. Me hizo recordar al prototipo de Raccoon City cuando experimentaban con los clones de Alice.

I must confess that at the beginning of the first chapter I had a deja vu since it has a certain similarity to Resident Evil, I say this because of the atmosphere that the tragedy begins in a very cozy urbanization of those that you think that absolutely nothing happens. It reminded me of the prototype of Raccoon City when they were experimenting with Alice's clones.

Pero bueno, lo que si es que no hay ni un minuto donde no te sientas en suspenso porque todo empieza rápido, como quien dice, primero la consecuencia y seguramente irán mostrando la causa de todo el apocalipsis que esta enfrentando la raza humana.

But well, there is not a minute where you don't feel in suspense because everything starts fast, as they say, first the consequence and surely they will show the cause of the whole apocalypse that the human race is facing.

Una de las cosas que me llamo la atención de esta primera temporada y no se si se sigue haciendo en la segunda, es que primero presentaron a ciertos personajes para posteriormente dar palabras claves sobre ciertos sucesos.

One of the things that caught my attention in this first season and I don't know if it is still being done in the second season, is that first they introduced certain characters and then they give key words about certain events.

Por ejemplo presentan a Barbara, Spears, Lance entre otros. Que por cierto, pensé en un momento que se trataba de una forma de destacar a los personajes que de cierto modo iban a ser protagonistas de toda la serie, sin embargo al transcurrir los capítulos nos damos cuenta que también es una herramienta para no perdernos, dado que muestra la serie y eventos en diferentes ángulos, es decir no hay un protagonista, acá intentan mostrar el ángulo y lo que vive cada uno, aun así el evento sea el mismo.

For example, they introduce Barbara, Spears, Lance, among others. By the way, I thought at one point that this was a way to highlight the characters that in a way were going to be protagonists of the entire series, however as the chapters go by we realize that it is also a tool to not get lost, since it shows the series and events in different angles, ie there is no protagonist, here they try to show the angle and what each one lives, even if the event is the same.

Esto por supuesto hace que cada capitulo sea un tanto pesado porque dan muchos detalles, pero a mi punto de vista es muy positivo porque no te deja con lagunas. Cada momento y personaje lo desarrollan muy bien a pesar de, como les comentaba al inicio, la historia es un poco trillada por no decir que es un cliché zombi.

This of course makes each chapter a bit heavy because they give a lot of details, but in my point of view it is very positive because it does not leave you with gaps. Each moment and character is developed very well despite, as I said at the beginning, the story is a bit trite, not to say that it is a zombie cliché.

Lo que me encanta es ver que de cierto modo a pesar de seguir un mismo patrón, como que o han tomado todo y agregado a la serie, dado que la lucha no es solo por la sobrevivencia contra los zombi, también con el caos y lo enfermo que puede ser la humanidad, pandillas, psicópatas, personas desesperadas por obtener gasolina y todo aquello que puede suceder dentro de un apocalipsis.

What I love is to see that in a way despite following the same pattern, they have kind of taken everything and added to the series, since the fight is not only for survival against the zombies, but also with the chaos and how sick humanity can be, gangs, psychopaths, people desperate for gas and everything that can happen in an apocalypse.

Hay que estar muy atentos a todos los detalles, porque absolutamente TODO se conecta de alguna forma, tomando en consideración que es una ciudad pequeña y que la zona de escape es una sola, un estadio que es un lugar deseado por todos los sobrevivientes, y quienes al final, se llevan una gran sorpresa.

You have to be very attentive to all the details, because absolutely EVERYTHING is connected in some way, taking into consideration that it is a small city and that the escape zone is only one, a stadium that is a place desired by all the survivors, and who in the end, get a big surprise.

Pero claro, no todos corren con la suerte de llegar vivos, o bueno al menos no siendo humanos.

But of course, not all of them are lucky enough to make it alive, or at least not being human.
