El ángel de la muerte (The good nurse)

Ahora si a lo otro que he venido. Anoche vi con @joalgusa una película que nos habían recomendado y que habíamos colocado en aviso cuando estuviera disponible en netflix.

El gordo y yo amamos las tramas basadas en hechos reales, y esta es una de ellas, bastante aterradora por muy sencilla que se pueda ver en la película. Pero incluso un tanto más mortal que la fiebre de Dahmer que por cierto fue un éxito en netflix, más sin embargo no estuve de acuerdo con esa película y la forma en que la quisieron proyectar pero no se logró.

The fat man and I love plots based on true events, and this is one of them, quite terrifying as simple as it may look in the movie. But even somewhat more deadly than Dahmer fever which by the way was a hit on netflix, more however I didn't agree with that movie and the way they wanted to screen it but it didn't make it.

En fin, hablando del ángel de la muerte, o de el buen enfermero. Creo que no hay ninguna película en la que Redmayne me deje con la boca abierta. Este actor sin duda alguna tiene una de las mejores proyecciones cuando se trata de ser una persona con diferentes personalidades.

Anyway, speaking of the angel of death, or the good nurse. I don't think there is any movie in which Redmayne leaves me with my mouth open. This actor without a doubt has one of the best projections when it comes to being a person with different personalities.

Si bien cuando esta en un ambiente actoral normal se mira bastante angelical, el punto de quiebre donde muestra lo contrario siempre es exquisito, magnifico. Y en esta película me dejo aun más sorprendido en la forma en que esquiva la rabia o los impulsos por siempre mantener todo en secreto.

Como les había comentado antes, es una historia basada en un hecho real de un enfermero que hizo atrocidades en diferentes hospitales y cuyas sospechas nunca fueron tan significativas para detenerlo, hasta que lo trasladan a un nuevo hospital donde conoce a una enfermera cuya vida es bastante complicada y un tanto trágica.

As I mentioned before, it is a story based on a true story of a nurse who did atrocities in different hospitals and whose suspicions were never significant enough to stop him, until he is transferred to a new hospital where he meets a nurse whose life is quite complicated and somewhat tragic.

En la historia de esta enfermera se deja ver un poco lo injusto que puede llegar a ser los contratos de trabajo para enfermeros, donde tienen que cumplir cierto tiempo largo para poder disfrutar de un seguro medico, que a mi parecer debería ser en el mismo momento que es contratado.

In the story of this nurse we can see how unfair it can be the work contracts for nurses, where they have to serve a certain long time to enjoy health insurance, which in my opinion should be at the same time he is hired.

También se nota bastante la disfunción familiar, pero hay que tomar muchas cosas en cuenta, madre soltera (no queda claro si desde un inicio o fue viuda, o tal vez no recuerdo lol), una de sus hijas cuya edad le permite sufrir un poco más y no sobrellevar sus reacciones ante una madre que tal vez no le presta la atención debida ya que pasa el día y noche trabajando. Y bueno, un secreto que al final se tuvo que desvelar para poder proteger su futuro.

A pesar de toda la tragedia estas dos personas hicieron una buena amistad. Creo a mi perspectiva que no hubo ningún interés alguno por parte del enfermero, más que simplemente ayudar a una persona que le necesitaba, algo que si bien lo ponemos en contraste con sus demás acciones, seria bastante contradictorio, lo que me lleva a pensar que estos actos tal vez podrían ser parte de un problema psicológico al que yo llegue a pensar que podría ser problemas de identidad o incluso bipolaridad.

Despite all the tragedy, these two people became good friends. I believe in my perspective that there was no interest whatsoever on the part of the nurse, other than simply helping a person who needed him, something that if we put it in contrast with his other actions, would be quite contradictory, which leads me to think that these acts could perhaps be part of a psychological problem that I came to think could be identity problems or even bipolarity.

Sin embargo, es por esta misma amistad que toda la verdad se desvela al final, y algo muy importante a destacar es que la única respuesta del asesino fue que nadie le detenía.

However, it is because of this same friendship that the whole truth is revealed at the end, and something very important to note is that the only response of the murderer was that no one was stopping him.

A ciencia cierta y en al vida real, no se sabe aun las razones por la cual hizo tales atrocidades, y lo que se deja en claro es que no tenia nada en contra con las victimas ya que fue hecho de una forma aleatoria que ni incluso él mismo sabría a quien le iba a tocar la mala suerte de recibir un tratamiento que le quitaría la vida.

For sure and in real life, it is not yet known the reasons why he did such atrocities, and what is made clear is that he had nothing against the victims as it was done in a random way that even he himself would not know who would be unlucky enough to receive a treatment that would take his life.

Claro no fue solo por cuestión de la amistad, ya había un investigación previa sin pruebas contundentes. Lo que si me extraña es el hecho de que este asesino pasó años sin ser descubierto y que cuyos hospitales tenían razones suficientes para incluso no aceptarle trabajar en sus recintos.

What does surprise me is the fact that this murderer went for years without being discovered and that the hospitals had enough reasons to not even accept him to work on their premises.

Sin embargo, ya vemos la historia, más de 300 personas muertes por la negligencia del hospital, que por cierto, ninguna de ellas fueron demandadas, cosa que me pareció bastante errático, ya que hay muchos elementos a mi parecer que son piezas claves para que el hospital tenga culpa en si sobre lo sucedido.

However, we see the story, more than 300 people died due to the negligence of the hospital, which by the way, none of them were sued, which seemed to me quite erratic, as there are many elements in my opinion that are key pieces for the hospital to be at fault for what happened.

Me hubiese gustado que el final fuese un poco más extenso, ver la mejoría de la enfermera una vez que recibe la cirugía y más escenas en unión a sus hijas, pero bueno, es lo que hay y la verdad es que mis expectativas no se vieron satisfechas, esperaba un poco más, teniendo en cuenta que es una historia de hechos reales tan interesante como Dahmer.

I would have liked the ending to be a bit longer, to see the improvement of the nurse once she receives the surgery and more scenes in union with her daughters, but well, it is what it is and the truth is that my expectations were not satisfied, I expected a little more, taking into account that it is a story of real events as interesting as Dahmer.
