Lupin Part I (netflix series review)

Saludos Hivers, feliz domingo tengan todos. Yo hoy me he levantado temprano para echar gasolina y hacer algunas vueltas pendientes. Pero antes de salir de casa pensé en pasar por aquí dejándoles una nueva recomendación.

Desde ayer he empezado a ver Lupin, una serie disponible en Netflix que trata sobre robos. Claro, está fue la primera visión que tuve de esta serie, pero es más compleja e interesante la historia detrás de las hazañas mostradas.

Sinceramente tenía tiempo sin ver una serie diferente y que me diera esas ganas de no dormir, que por cierto, me acosté a las 2am terminando de ver la primera parte de esta serie. Y bueno, he aquí mis impresiones.

Para empezar, es magnífica, es de esas tramas que mientras más va desarrollandose va gustando aún más. No hay hasta los momentos, o al menos en esta primera parte o temporada alguna escena que sienta que está de relleno, que sea aburrido, no, todo lo contrario, toda escena y evento encaja tan bien que pareciera que el director estuviese contando su propia historia vivida.

As of yesterday I have started watching Lupin, a series available on Netflix that deals with robberies. Sure, this was the first vision I had of this series, but it is more complex and interesting the story behind the exploits shown.


I honestly had a long time without watching a different series and that gave me that urge not to sleep, which by the way, I went to bed at 2am finishing watching the first part of this series. And well, here are my impressions.


To begin with, it is magnificent, it is one of those plots that the more it develops, the more I like it even more. There is not until now, or at least in this first part or season, any scene that feels like filler, that is boring, no, on the contrary, every scene and event fits so well that it seems that the director is telling his own story.

Yo no sé nada sobre los libros de Lupin, pero lo que me hizo entender está serie es que se trata de un hombre que no solo es alguien inteligente, también un caballero que sabe cómo robar de una forma tan ingeniosa que se mira como todo un arte.

Hay un agregado en esta serie que no sé si forme parte del libro como tal pero que le da esas razones o espacios para que ocurran dichos eventos artísticos.

Empezando por el hecho de que un hombre de color es señalado como el ladrón de la joya de la reina por parte de su patrón. Esto por supuesto trae a colación un poco el tema sobre el racismo y el hecho de aprovecharse de las personas más vulnerables para sacar ventaja de los hechos.

Al principio no queda claro si realmente este hombre es el ladrón, pero es un poco cuestionable cuando el regalo que le deja a su hijo luego de suicidarse en la cárcel se basa en las hazañas de Lupin.

En primera instancia por supuesto supuse que efectivamente había sido el ladrón de la joya pero que no era el único que estaba implicado en tal hecho.

Sin embargo, cuando la joya que se daba por desaparecida, es hallada 25 años después, da rienda suelta a las dudas y a la posibilidad de que alguien ha sido encarcelado siendo inocente.

! [English Text] I don't know anything about the Lupin books, but what this series made me understand is that it's about a man who is not only a smart guy, but also a gentleman who knows how to steal in such an ingenious way that it's seen as an art.


There is an addition in this series that I don't know if it is part of the book as such but it gives those reasons or spaces for such artistic events to happen.


Starting with the fact that a colored man is singled out as the thief of the queen's jewel by his employer. This of course brings up a bit of a theme about racism and taking advantage of the most vulnerable people to take advantage of events.


At first it's unclear if this man really is the thief, but it's a bit questionable when the gift he leaves his son after he commits suicide in prison is based on Lupin's exploits.


In the first instance of course I assumed that he had indeed been the jewel thief but that he was not the only one involved in such a deed.


However, when the jewel that was thought to be missing is found 25 years later, it gives free rein to doubts and the possibility that someone has been imprisoned while innocent.

El hijo de este hombre en este punto se convierte en la pieza clave para descubrir toda la verdad sobre este evento del pasado, buscando no solo las respuestas, también hacer pagar a quienes le hicieron creer durante esos años que su padre había sido el actor intelectual del robo.

La forma o más bien, la estrategia que usa este hombre está basado en lo que ha leído en el libro que le regaló su padre, ser un caballero ante todo, respetar las reglas pero entrar al juego. Es un tanto complicado de entender si se lee así de buenas a primeras. Pero es algo que se va clarificando en el desarrollo de esta primera parte de la serie.

Lupin según está trama era un hombre capaz de tener varios rostros y personalidades, usa la atención de las personas como su método para evadirlas, algo bastante contradictorio pero muy eficaz a la hora de llevar a cabo un plan de robo.

Tiene esa capacidad para hacer que las personas confíen en él, pero sobre todo ese poder para adelantarse a los hechos y tener absolutamente todo el control, haciendose ver cómo alguien imparable.

! [English Text] The son of this man at this point becomes the key piece to discover the whole truth about this event of the past, seeking not only the answers, but also to make pay those who made him believe during those years that his father had been the intellectual actor of the robbery.


The way or rather, the strategy that this man uses is based on what he has read in the book that his father gave him, being a gentleman above all, respecting the rules but entering the game. It's a bit complicated to understand if you read it that way right off the bat. But it is something that becomes clearer in the development of this first part of the series.


Lupin according to this plot was a man capable of having several faces and personalities, he uses people's attention as his method to evade them, something quite contradictory but very effective when it comes to carrying out a robbery plan.


He has that ability to make people trust him, but above all that power to anticipate the facts and have absolutely all the control, making himself look like someone unstoppable.

El problema en este caso es que el hijo de este hombre ahora presuntamente asesinado, tiene una familia, incluyendo un hijo. Esto por supuesto es una desventaja ante la posibilidad de ser descubierto.

Y vemos al final de esta primera parte que se convierte en la piedra de tropiezo cuando todo se pone realmente rudo y peligroso. Ya no se trata solo de buscar la verdad y hacerlo público, también de proteger s su familia en el mismo proceso. Pues este hombre no se da por vencido con el hecho de desenmascarar al hombre que llevo a su padre a la muerte.

! [English Text] The problem in this case is that the son of this now allegedly murdered man has a family, including a son. This of course is a disadvantage in the face of the possibility of being found out.


And we see at the end of this first part that he becomes the stumbling block when it all gets really rough and dangerous. It's no longer just about seeking the truth and going public, it's also about protecting his family in the process. For this man is not giving up on unmasking the man who led his father to his death.
