Ruth and Boaz (2025)
Hey guy, I saw a very interesting movie some days ago and I decided to share it here. "Ruth and Boaz" it is a modern day version of one of the most exciting love stories in the Bible.
It is a production of Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin. The movie has a lot of notable casts like Phylicia Rashad, Serayah, Tyler Lepley, Kenneth Babyface, Lecrae and many others.
The movie begins with the story of a young lady, Serayah (Ruth) who experienced a rough life from a very tender age. Though she didn't let those experiences stop her so she strived so much to excel in her music career until she had to break her contract with her producer, James Lee Thomas (Syrus) and that caused her life to be threatened.
In her bid to escape, she leaves Atlanta with the mother of her boyfriend who had just passed on, Phylicia Rashad (Naomi). They both move to Naomi's hometown somewhere in Tennessee.
In order to care for herself and her "mother in-law" Ruth goes in search of a job. At first she couldn't seem to get any and then she stumbled on a group of people who worked at a winery and decided to join them. And that was how Ruth's love story with Boaz begins.
Just when it seemed like everything was working well for Ruth, Syrus shows up. And tries to destroy it all.
The Characters in the movie were exceptional and they really did amazingly well in delivering their roles.
Serayah as Ruth Moably: Serayah McNeill shines as Ruth, a rising Atlanta hip-hop artist who leaves her music career behind after a personal tragedy. Her portrayal captures Ruth's vulnerability, resilience, and determination. Serayah brings a strong background in music and acting to her performance.
Tyler Lepley as Boaz: Tyler Lepley plays Boaz, a wealthy winery owner and former Marine who becomes Ruth's love interest. He brings charm, kindness, and depth to the character, making Boaz a believable and attractive partner for Ruth.
Phylicia Rashad as Naomi: Phylicia Rashad delivers a powerful performance as Naomi, the elderly widowed woman Ruth cares for. Her presence adds warmth and wisdom to the story, and her character's relationship with Ruth is particularly touching.
The cinematography The movie's visuals effectively captured the contrast between the vibrant city of Atlanta and the serene landscapes of Tennessee. The cinematography highlighted the differences between Atlanta's fast-paced environment and the peaceful surroundings of Tennessee, reflecting Ruth's personal growth and transformation. It supported the emotional narrative, conveying the characters' feelings and relationships through thoughtful camera work and lighting.
In conclusion, the movie reminds us that not every love story starts with fireworks and sparkles. Some start with truth, trust and even tragedy but in the end what matters the most is that we never give up.
