All of the images in this post were taken directly from the film.

This version of the TMNT film feels different from the previous versions that I've seen. Perhaps because the animation style is similar to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. Yes, the animated version fits the theme of turtles entering their teenage years better. The teenage nuances brought by the ninja turtles in the previous live-action version of the TMNT film were not reflected as well as in this version of the film.

Overall, I found this film to be exciting and entertaining. The presentation of each character is strong. And significantly different from the previous version. The core of this film is an impression of the present combined with an exploration of adolescence. The turtles were said to have had to hide because their teacher thought humans were dangerous. However, during adolescence, these turtles require socialization and recognition. These turtles are forced to choose sides due to an existential crisis and the need to appear in the outside world. Are they on the side of humans or mutants?

Each character illustrates a human side. Each ninja turtle is unique in its own way. Leonardo and his brothers' is portrayed as an adolescent searching for identity. It's just that the portrayal of Master Splinter (voiced by Jackie Chan) feels significantly different from the previous version. The wise and brave figure has been replaced by a frail and traumatized master Splinter in this version.

In this film, several new mutant characters are introduced, which indirectly leads the audience to the origin of the mutation that gave birth to the Ninja Turtles and Master Splinter. And each mutant character comes to life with all the cuteness and innocence of childhood. Other mutants' absurd appearances are also imprinted in our memories throughout the film. This film not only discusses the battle between evil and good through dialogue and character traits, but it is also a story that touches the lives of teenagers.

The comedy element is almost constant throughout the film, which is aimed at young audiences. The fresh comedy presentation keeps you entertained until the end of the film. Teenage-style intelligent dialogue presentation. It feels flowing and not stiff, whether it's jokes, chatter, or disputes between teenage turtles. That is what gives their friendly relationship in this film substance. In addition to super fresh animation support and music that complements every aspect of the action and comedy shown.

After watching this film, I felt satisfied that I had received an entertaining treat. I predict that this film will be included in the animated film candidate category at the 2024 Academy Awards based on cool and good animation. Of course, if no other animated films similar to TMNT Mutant Mayhem have been released this year. However, I must admit that this is my favorite TMNT film to date.
