There is a special thrill to seeing an animated film adapted into live-action. Manga and anime have become deeply ingrained in the audience's memory. However, you must exercise caution when creating live-action scenes, as if not done correctly, the fans' hopes will be dashed.

There have been many successful live-action films, such as One Piece and Kenshin Samurai X, but there have also been some that fail. Hopefully, GOLDEN KAMUY's live-action will be categorized as successful.

I watched the trailer, and it looks promising. You can see the preview, which will be broadcast in May.

However, if you're unfamiliar with GOLDEN KAMUY, the anime is well worth watching. Indeed, GOLDEN KAMUY is not well-known in anime circles. However, in terms of the story being unique, this could be considered an "undiscovered pearl".

This film genre depicts the historical adventure of war in the early twentieth century. Specifically, a soldier named Sugimoto Saichi. He always escaped death during wartime. As a result, he was given the nickname "The Immortal Sugimoto." He then looked for gold to assist the widow of his late comrade in arms, who had died in the war. Sugimoto learned of the existence of Ainu gold through tattoos on the skin of 24 prisoners. So, to obtain the map, 24 prisoners' back skins had to be collected.

He works with Asirpa, a teenage Ainu girl who knows how to hunt and survive in snowy conditions. Asirpa agreed to collaborate because she was also looking for her father, who was thought to be the creator of the golden map. It turns out that many parties are after the gold of the Ainu nation, including for treasonous purposes against the government. This is where the story gets exciting because there are so many twists and turns in friendship, betrayal, and unpredictable plotlines. Furthermore, many enemies want the gold.

So, from the two trailers above, you can begin to understand the conflict of this story. The main attraction of GOLDEN KAMUY is the opportunity to see the life and culture of the Ainu people, who live on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. It also invites readers to learn about the political climate following the war between Russia and Japan at the start of the twentieth century.

GOLDEN KAMUY features action-packed adventures in P. Hokkaido at the turn of the twentieth century, including stories of treasure hunting, friends who become enemies, and enemies who become friends. The story's characters include military personnel, former samurai, and, later, rebels against the Russian Tzar's regime.

GOLDEN KAMUY is recommended for anyone interested in learning more about Hokkaido's culture and history, as well as the culture of the Ainu tribe.

For those of you who are tired of typical anime stories. So you can add GOLDEN KAMUY to your list of live-action anime to watch in May.
