If you're looking for a scary show to watch this Halloween, SAW X (2023) could be a good option. The SAW film, which debuted in 2004, has grown into a well-known horror franchise that is now in its tenth series. It was almost 20 years ago. I recall SAW 1 being riddled with mysteries about who was really behind the game of life and death.

SAW X is set between the films SAW I (2004) and SAW II (2003). Jigsaw is said to have died in SAW III (2006).

Because it is set in reverse time, the story is depicted when John Kramer, a genius, is in critical condition due to brain cancer. He met someone amid his despair about his remaining months of life. John Krmaer's research led him to alternative medicine in Mexico. After receiving treatment, he discovered that it was a cover-for-fraud that took the victims of sick people who were dying. His money was stolen, but he was duped. Making John Kramer take action to punish these con artists.

This series differs from the previous SAW series in my opinion. Because I see here that it is not only sadism that is displayed. There is already a story at the beginning that leads the audience to believe that the punishment meted out by John Kramer was well deserved. Indeed, the beginning of the film is a little tedious because it serves as an introduction to the plot for the audience. Even the film poster and the torture are not directly related to this film. But it was terrifying for me.

SAW X (2023) appears different because John Kramer directly participates in the game of death and punishes those who deserve punishment or freedom. By kidnapping the people responsible for the fraud one by one. However, due to his illness, it was discovered that he was assisted in the execution of the victims by two of his acquaintances.

In this film, there is also a dilemma in which John Kramer's friend still exhibits feelings of forgiveness. If I look at it, John Kramer's games always give his victims a chance to live. This was evident from the taxi driver, who escaped death after completing the pipe bomb game. It's just that the time available isn't always sufficient. Perhaps if game time is added for all victims, no victims will die in the game.

There is also a lot of silliness in this film that should not be there. Because it makes no sense to me and is out of the ordinary in the real world. That's how John Kramer managed to turn the room used to trick him into a room full of traps in his game. and the scene in which kids who are playing ball at night end up participating in the game. When you consider the plot of this film, these are all ridiculous parts.

However, the torture and horror scenes in this film are still interesting in my opinion. It's just that this film attempts to make the previous story more humane. Despite the fact that torturing someone is an inhumane act.

If you don't have time to watch the SAW series IV to XI, you can watch this film to learn about John Kramer's journey to become a punisher of wrongdoers. So sit back and enjoy the horror of the torture of living or dying.

BTW, these type of movies contain unbelievable silliness sometimes and where the viewers think of shunning the movie.
