This is another week of the CineTv Contest and for this week's prompt, I will be reviewing a movie titled “ GIRL'S TRIP”

Movie Plot

Girl's Trip is a 2017 movie which follows the story of four girls who have been friends since college and they call themselves the “Flossy Posse”. In a bid to reconnect after many years, they came together after one of the girls invited the rest of them for a weekend trip and also to attend her show which was happening that weekend. There, they got to catch up, talk about the past and also the struggles they were all facing.

The four friends are Sasha Franklin(Played by Queen Latifah), a gossip reporter, Ryan Pierce ( played by Regina Hall), an author and also a speaker, Lisa Miller Cooper ( Played by Jada Pinkett Smith), a nurse and also a single mom to two beautiful children and Dina ( Played by Tiffany Haddish), their “can't keep a job” friend.

What I Love About This Movie

I love this movie so much because it teaches the value of friendship. Also knowing that they can have disagreements, arguments but at the end of the day, they are still friends, they make up and forgive one another. That's the kind of circle I want around me and I would love to also be the same for my friends.

Performance of the actors/actress that left an impression

I loved the performances of all four friends but Oh My God, I need me a “cray cray” friend like Dina. Okay, maybe not too “cray cray”, but you know, just the right amount of craziness. I mean we can't all have the same personalities right?

Dina was not only funny but also one who is an open book and doesn't keep her feelings hidden, she says it like it is and doesn't take nonsense. Her love for her friends makes her do crazy things which sometimes go too far.

Any Scene That Still Pops Into My Mind

Despite the fact that it's been a long time since I have seen this movie, I still remember this scene like it was yesterday.

It was the scene where Ryan Pierce ( Regina Hall) was giving her keynote speech where she was to debunk the image which showed her husband (Stewart Pierce) who was having an affair with another woman. A speech carefully drafted by her agent.

Her three friends came in during her speech and right there she knew, Ryan knew she could no longer tell lies to keep people (audience) happy. She could no longer fake it because her friends knew the real her and if everyone else rejects her because her marriage has failed, her friends got her and they will be there for her. That's true friendship. Laying it all out for our own people and knowing that when we fall, they are there to pick us up.

How Does The Movie Influences Me?

As we all grow and develop, our interests and priorities also change and we might end up pursuing different paths. This may affect our relationships, especially with friends. But it is also important that we try to reconnect with our friends in one way or the other.

It is natural for one or two of our friends to feel left out especially when they are not doing well, this might make them want to withdraw from us as they might feel they are not on our level. But as good friends, we should endeavour to check on our friends, support and encourage them because friendship is sweeter and enjoyable when everyone is growing.

I remember this beautiful film..... girls trip.

I liked how Regina Hall dumped that cheating asshole on a live program and I also liked how they all embraced themselves as friends later on.

Queen Latifah made the film funny though with her wearing clothes on rent and posing them as the real deal😂😂

In the end their friendship remained and that's what matters. No disagreement should spoil genuine friendships👍

This review really captures the heart of Girl's Trip I love how you highlighted the realness of friendship- the ups and downs, but always coming back stronger. Dina's character is definitely a standout: her energy and loyalty make the movie so fun. Makes me want to rewatch it all over again.
