CineTv Contest #67 - DON'T BREATHE (2016)

It's week #67 on #cinetv. This week's theme is to give a review of a favorite movie with suspense.

There are a lot to choose from with this theme but I am choosing a movie that kept me on my toes. It is filled with suspense that merely thinking about the movie still gives me the chills. The title of the movie is;

DON'T BREATHE (2016)

This movie was released in 2016 and it starred;

Stephen Lang as The Blind Man, Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto as the three thieves.

The movie is about three thieves who carried out a robbery on a blind man who they found out has about $300,000 in cash in his house. He lives in a very quiet and abandoned neighborhood which they thought would make it impossible for him to scream for help. Though he is a veteran of the Gulf War but since he's blind I guess they thought how is he supposed to see them? Well according to the thieves, it was supposed to be the easiest robbery ever, just in and out. How hard could it be?

There's a saying that doesn't judge a situation you've never been in. That is the case of the thieves in this movie as they got more than what they bargained for.

I mean just look at the picture of the blind man's house, does it look like the person living there would be very dangerous ?? Hahaha watch the movie and you will find out.

• What I love about the movie;

Firstly, I would give a thumbs up to those who came about the name of the movie because it went in line with the movie. It got to a stage where I wasn't breathing on behalf of the thieves. Yes, it was that horrific and so full of suspense.

Secondly, I love the fact that the thieves got more than what they bargained for as what they thought would be an easy job turned out to be their worst nightmare. I mean if they could have seen the outcome before going for the robbery. I bet they would have stayed home and given their lives to Christ 😀😀😀

• What I find most interesting about the movie;

For a person that is to be robbed, isn't he supposed to be the victim here but it's kinda funny when I see the robbers as the victim especially the woman amongst them played by Jane Levy. Oh, I can't explain how much I wanted her to survive the ordeal.

Another interesting thing is the part where the blind man knew they were more than one person in his house through the smell of their shoes. Damn, I was like ;

They can't just catch a break 😃😃😃

The actors and actresses gave an amazing performance and all I can say is that if you are a fan of movies with suspense then this is a must-watch for you.

The sequel to the movie "Don't Breathe 2" was also released in 2021 and after watching the prequel, I know you won't hesitate to watch the sequel.
