Esta serie está basada en un hecho real: el descubrimiento de 45 cuerpos abandonados en un hospital de Nueva Orleans después del huracán Katrina que destrozó la ciudad.
Apple TV+ estrena los tres primeros episodios. ¿Qué sucedió ahí? Éste polémico caso de uno de los hospitales ubicados en la zona más afectada, nos hace cuestionarnos lo correcto y lo incorrecto en las reacciones humanas.
El látigo del huracán Katrina dejó más de 1.800 personas muertas y daños profundos en estructuras en Nueva Orleans.
La serie "Después del huracán Katrina" (Five Days at Memorial) relata las situaciones y el caos que se movió en el hospital Memorial Medical Center, durante 5 días después del impacto.
Tal vez todos leímos en las noticias sobre el caso, pero la realidad que vivieron por falta de ayuda y la emergencia que se presento en las instalaciones, obligo al personal médico a tomar algunas decisiones duras que influyeron en el bienestar y la supervivencia de sus pacientes.
Ahora con está serie saltará a la palestra las medidas y decisiones del equipo médico, entre ellas la Dra. Anna Pou, donde algunas le serán de críticas severas, mientras que otro grupo justifica su manera humana de proceder, no dejándolos sufrir en agonía sólos.

Cuando subió el nivel del agua, falló el suministro eléctrico y aumentó la temperatura, los cuidadores exhaustos de un hospital de Nueva Orleans se vieron obligados a tomar decisiones que los seguirían en los años posteriores”, adelanta la plataforma.
Todo el transcurrir de la serie nos hace plantearnos reflexiones sobre la condición humana, la ética profesional y la moral. Por supuesto ¿quienes somos nosotros para emitir juicios o condenar esa desesperación del personal médico? Cuando no estuvimos allí mirando el dolor de los pacientes, que estaban muriendo lentamente.
De plano te recomiendo, si eres una persona sensible no la veas, hay escenas con mucha desesperación. "Después del huracán Katrina" no es nada fácil de ver, de hecho, es una de las series más duras que he visto.
A través de la serie seguimos por varios días las decisiones buenas o malas que tuvieron que tomar la Dra. Anna Pou y el personal con respecto al cuidado y atención de sus pacientes. Fueron señaladas como criminales y acusadas de asesinar a las personas bajo su cuidado, mientras que ellas siempre argumentaron que los trataron con dignidad y con respeto mitigando su dolor.
El personaje central de la miniserie es la Dra. Anna Pou, quien es interpretada en pantalla por Vera Farmiga.
Entre sus trabajos como actriz la vimos en la película Hasta los huesos y la saga El conjuro.
Yo juraba que era la protagonista de expedientes X, Dana Scully, se me parecia a ella.
Esos cinco días en ese hospital de New Orleans, nos brinda distintos puntos de vista de lo que sucedio allí. El director de la serie no elige un lado o una persona por encima de la otra, sino que tratan de entender la lógica, las decisiones y las diferentes emociones de cada uno de los actores principales en un momento muy crítico y de caos total.
Las peores condiciones imaginables sucedieron en ese hospital, sin electricidad para mantener aire acondicionado, sin respiradores o monitores que funcionaran, se quedaron sin agua, el personal médico tuvo que tomar decisiones difíciles sobre qué pacientes debían salír primero y a cuáles dejar de últimos. Algunos recibieron inyecciones letales de morfina y calmantes en circunstancias no muy claras.
Mi opinión personal:
Todos sabemos el resultado final, ya han pasado 17 años de ese evento catastrófico y las decisiones que tuvieron que tomar en esas circunstancias tan difíciles como el darles una muerte digna ante la imposibilidad de evacuarlos de un modo seguro sin arriesgar en el acto las vidas de otras personas.
"Después del huracán Katrina" no es nada fácil de ver, de hecho, es una de las series más duras que he visto.

The entire course of the series makes us reflect on the human condition, professional ethics and morals. Of course, who are we to make judgments or condemn the desperation of the medical staff? When we weren't there looking at the pain of the patients, they were slowly dying.
I flatly recommend you, if you are a sensitive person, do not watch it, there are scenes with a lot of desperation. "After Hurricane Katrina" is not easy to watch, in fact, it is one of the hardest series I have ever seen.
Through the series we follow for several days the good or bad decisions that Dr. Anna Pou and the staff had to make regarding the care and attention of their patients. They were identified as criminals and accused of murdering the people under their care, while they always argued that they were treated with dignity and respect, mitigating their pain.

Those five days in that hospital in New Orleans, gives us different points of view of what happened there. The director of the series does not choose one side or one person over the other, but they try to understand the logic, the decisions and the different emotions of each of the main actors in a very critical moment and total chaos.
The worst conditions imaginable happened in that hospital, no electricity to maintain air conditioning, no ventilators or monitors to work, no water, medical staff had to make difficult decisions about which patients to leave first and which to leave last. Some received lethal injections of morphine and painkillers in unclear circumstances.
My personal opinion:
We all know the final result, 17 years have passed since that catastrophic event and the decisions they had to make in such difficult circumstances as giving them a dignified death given the impossibility of evacuating them safely without risking the lives of others.
"After Hurricane Katrina" is not easy to watch, in fact, it is one of the hardest series I have ever seen.

Amiga @sacra97 ese genero no me gusta me alteran, y asi como Katrina muchos eventos naturales en el mundo se tuvieron que tomar decisones drasticas. Considero que no puedo ser juez sin haber pasado por circustancias parecidas en la cual tomar decisiones es muy dificil.

So much desperation must have come with the situation they found themselves in..it is actually not easy to be faced in such a situation and still think straight...it's a drastic moment where everyone wants to save his/her life, the true nature of humans start to play out like never before.

I just saw it, it's a series with chapters, I'm on the third, but I was impressed with the realism and felt the pain of the people, the desperation. That is why I speak of not suitable for very sensitive people.
