I just finished seeing a 2025 action packed movie titled Diablo. A movie directed by Ernesto Diaz Espinoza and the screenplay written by Mat Sansom.

The movie is an interesting one with a good storyline and pictures with characters like vincente who was the manipulated father of the young girl, Eliza. Eliza is another character, a young girl who performed her role with this kind of a professional level. She acted beyond what a young girl of her age would be seeing doing in a movie role. Kris is another major character in the movie, he was the supposed biological father of Eliza who fulfilled his promise of recovering the young lady, Eliza, back from the leader of the gangster, Vincente. The psychopathic killer, El Corvo is another character that tried his best to make the movie interesting. He did this by playing out his roles as the villain in the movie.

There's other minor characters in the movie as well, we have the body guards to Vicente, the mother of Eliza is another minor character who we never see from the beginning to the end of the movie, we have those at the club house and those guys that were beaten to stupor by Kris for trying to rescue Eliza.

THEME:

The movie is an action packed movie and with those characters that were involved in the movie, it was a blast. Though there's some aspects of the movie that were characterized by flaws, overall, I had a nice time watching the movie.

In the movie, there's themes of murder, love, robbery, gangsterism, falsehood, death, disloyalty, selfishness, revenge, promise keeping just to mention but a few.

THE PLOT

The movie started on a note where a man named Kris was seen killing two people, a driver and a thug. After that, Kris was seen trying to monitor the movement of a young girl, Eliza, who was believed to be the daughter of Vincente, the leader of a gangster group, but it's when the girl was taken by Kris in a way that looked like kidnap that we got to know that, Eliza was not in anyway related to Vincente.

We got to know this when Kris narrated everything Eliza needed to know for her to believe him, Kris that he was indeed the biological father to her, Eliza. Though, the journey to reclaiming his daughter as he had promised the mother was not an easy one as he and the girl encountered series of danger and opposition towards achieving this from all angles, but at the end, the girl was reclaimed from both Vincente and El-Corvo, who was the one that was being hired to kill Eliza mother by Vincente after the woman had threatened to live him with her daughter.

So, at the end, both Vincente and El-Corvo died after a fierce battle between the trio of Kris, Vincente and El-Corvo. Thanks to the diamond chain that helped to safe the young Eliza from being crushed to death by the crushing machine being set for her crushing by El-Corvo. It's the diamond that stopped the machine and saved her from being crushed to death.

REVIEW/ANALYSIS:

The movie like I said earlier is an interesting one, but as interesting as the movie is, there's some flaws that makes it to be tiring to me while watching. So, I would be talking about both the good and the flaw side of the movie, as there's always a negative side to everything that has a positive side which means nothing or no one is perfect.

The first thing I would like to talk about here is the event of the first scene of the movie. Though, in the first scene, we were shown a burial ground of a woman, but the identity of the woman we did not know. Also, the relationship of the man that visited the tomb of the woman was unknown to us and this made the movie not related at the initial stage of the movie.

Aside this, what transpired between kris and the other two guys, the thug and the driver was also unknown to us. Though they were talking about settlement which appear to be about paying for a service that was rendered, but we never got to know the details of the service that was rendered. This is another things that got me tired even at the initial stage of the movie.

Another thing or aspect of the movie that really got to me and even wanting to quit watching it is that of the use of multiple languages in the movie. Atimes, you see them speaking English and at the other time, you see them speaking Spanish. Though, this is a very good and weldone development in a movie, but even at that, we the audience watching the movie should have been carried along through subtitles, but this was not the case and what supposed to be the strength of the movie later turned out to be its flaw.

Also, the movie progression is another flaws of the movie, atimes you see a scene and at the other times, the other scene would come without having anything to do with the other former scene. That's another big shortcoming of the movie.

Another things I didn't actually like about the movie is how the young girl was being kidnapped. Though, Kris had a good intention of fulfilling his promise and rescuing the young girl from the man, Vincente, but the way he went about it is not too good for me. The innocent girl was put into the trunck of the car and not only that was subjected to hardship and trauma all through the movie. This shouldn't have been most especially for a young girl of that age.

Also, the theft or robbery story being told to Eliza by Kris is another thing I didn't really love about the movie. The story was told without the man, Kris feeling remorseful for the atrocities he, Vincente and his wife had committed at all. He was even telling the young girl that they never got caught. This is not a good story to be told to a young girl of that age as it has no moral connection at all.

The idea of selfishness is another part of the movie that's not too good at all. Vincente telling Kris that he intentionally took everything that belong to Kris from him is an act of selfishness which is not too good at all. Also, for the man to have killed the mother of the Eliza, whom he claimed to love is another thing that's not good about the man.

Also, end of both me and what happened after their death which was not made known to us the viewer is another thing that pissed me off about the movie. Lest I forget, the use of diamond to stop the machine from working and crushing the young girl is another thing that was not that deep enough. How come it's only Kris that got to know that the diamond can stop the machine from working, why didn't the girl herself and Vincente who has being trying to save the girl from being crush thought of the diamond. Well, maybe he was being carried away or didn't know the diamond was with the girl.

Furthermore, for the girl to be connected so fast with a total stranger as the movie was going on baffled me alot. Though, she was first reluctant to believe him, but at the end, she was made to believe him and his story.

But even with all these flaws, there's some aspect of the movie I love so much, the fighting was superb and also, the shooting scene was also carried out fine. The action of the small girl also got be thrilled and these were my solace about the movie and like I said earlier, I would love to watch the movie over and again.

RATING:

I will like to rate the movie 6/10.
