Greetings!

Seeing a thrilling action movie has always been my choice, but not a French movie maybe because of the language barrier. But today, I was opportuned to see my French action movie titled KO.

The movie is an interesting one and I would like to see it over and again. The action movie KO was written and directed by Antoine Blossier.

The movie Ciryl Gane as the main character, Ciryl Gane in the movie acted as Bastien and he really performed his role as a MMA champion in the movie and the rescuer of the young boy Maleaume Paquin who in the movie acted as Leo, also, in the movie we have a woman police officer named Alice Belaidi, who also acted as Kenza Alaoui in the movie. We also have Foued Nabba in the movie, he acted as the boss of the Manchour bloody group. All these mentioned are the main characters in the movie, also we have minor characters like Emma, Inaya, Fatou, Enzo, just to mention but a few.

THE PLOT

Like I said, the movie is a french action packed movie that featured all the above seasoned characters who to the best of their ability performed their roles creditably well.

The movie KO, started with a fighting competition where Enzo and Bastien were pitched together to fight in a ring. So, at the end of the fight, Bastien got Enzo killed.

So, as a result of the killing of his father, Leo, was angry with the man who killed his father, so as his mum Emma, and the trauma that came with the death of his dad later got to him and he decided to leave his mother and travelled to live with his cousin who's into drug dealings.

It's in the process of this drug dealings that Leo got himself into trouble with his cousin Hugo, when he realized he was in trouble, he informed his mum who sought the help of Bastien, the killer of her husband, to help her out. Bastien agreed and travelled down to Marseille for the rescue mission.

On getting to Marseille, he met with a woman police officer who was in charge of the case and not only that, was all out to avenge the killing of his brother who was burnt to death by the Manchour bloody group, so, both of them teamed up together and fought the battle to the end, though, the police officer was suspended along the line, but she didn't let her suspension got to her.

She and Bastien were able to fight and won the battle despite a mole being in the police given the other side's information. They fought to the end and Bastien was able to rescue Leo and hand him over to his mother and Kenza was also able to avenge the death of her brother.

THE REVIEW

The movie is an interesting one and I would like to review some of the scenes of the movie and the roles played by some of the characters.

Firstly, the MMA final shouldn't have been a deadly final. Since it's a sporting contest, there should be room for a walk away, also, the referee of the contest didn't try at all. Why would he allow Bastien to kill Enzo in the contest?

Still in the fighting contest, I saw the medical team trying to resuscitate Enzo, when he was lying down dead with oxygen. My question is that, why would they allow him to be knocked out to the point of death before coming to his aid, that's a knock on the part of the movie director. Though he knew what he was doing just to make a good storyline, I think he can still do better.

Aside from this, Leo getting angry at the appearance of Bastien at his father's tomb is a welcome action to me, if I were the one, I would have even done more than that, I love his action and also, the role played by her mother to calm him down and tell Bastien to excuse them. Its role was well scripted out there.

Emma consulting Bastien to rescue his kid is another bold move from a loving mother. Though she was pained by the death of her husband, who was from Bastien, when she realized she had no other option than Bastien, she went to him and asked for his help. To me, I love the movie. Had it been she didn't take the step, her son would have been dead, but her love for her son would make her do anything.

Also, Bastien accepting to help the family is another thing I cherished so much about the movie. If it were to be some people, they would not take up the mission. He would have neglected them after his first turned down attempt to broker peace with them, but he didn't think that way. That's a spirit of sportsmanship on his side. Also, I believed he used that avenue to right his wrongs. That's a good move on his side.

Also, in Marseille, all the events that happened there were not good at all. How would a deadly group be operating in a city without the police not taking the necessary action? That's bad of the police.

Aside from that, exposing kids to drugs and all other atrocities being committed which includes killing of all kinds is not what should be preached at all. Though the same is happening everywhere, it's not good at all.

The two kids having an affair, Leo and Fatou, is not something good enough and that's why both were scared and didn't really know what to do when those deadly gangs were after them, if not for the timely intervention of Bastien and Kenza. Both are too young to be in a relationship.

Also, a mole in the police force is what has been affecting the force everywhere in the world. As it can be seen in the movie, the mole in the force is the one responsible for the complexity of the police operation. They are the snitch and they are everywhere like I said earlier. But one thing I think should be done by the security forces in the world is that they should always be on the look out for these moles.

Also, I love the courage of the man and the police officer, despite the presence of the many armed men, they were able to get rid of the assailant.

THEME

The movie has in it, a theme of love, revenge, killings, betrayal, loyalty violence , illegal dealings, insecurity just to mention but a few.

Also, I love the musical aspect of the movie which was used to embellish each scene of the movie. Also, the pictures of the movie are crystal clear. And like I said earlier, I would love to see the movie again. Despite the little flaws, the movie still makes sense in its strength.

RATING:

I would like to rate the movie 7/10.

Thanks for reading.

That part where Emma asks Bastien for help despite everything… that really shows how love can push people to do the unimaginable. Powerful moment.
