Movie Review: Horrible Bosses
For a kickstart for me, it was not going to be anything serious or a murder mystery for now. I can say I have watched a couple until further notice. This time around, I went for a funny sit-at-home comedy called Horrible Bosses.

Have you ever worked for a boss who is simply a horrible person, a man-hater, or just a moron? Well, these are the kind of bosses these guys in the movie work for. Nick, Dale, and Kurt work for bosses they simply cannot stand, and they feel quitting the job would not be enough for them in this job. Aside from their friendship is a strong bond they share in common.
The comedy in this movie is in the fact that it is relatable. It is easy to understand the painpoints of working at these respective jobs belonging to Nick, Dale, and Kurt. Then their ranting springs from the job. I admire how there is no need for too much to happen just for comedy; it is simple and direct. Also, there are so many jokes in the dialogue between the characters. At some point, I was curious to know what was going on in the head of the writer of the script.

The plot of the movie became more hilarious when the three friends decided they had to take out their bosses to have some peace at their job. This is what makes it interesting: these guys actually love their job, but they are only faced with one unique obstacle that makes it a lot more difficult to get over the duties the job entails. I guess this is the reason why they decided it was best to get rid of their bosses for good. Now a problem has arisen. How do they get rid of their bosses?

Obviously, they went for the most conventional way any regular person would opt for, especially someone who has not done it before. They went to search for for hitman. What is funny is when they thought they had found one under an alias word, but they had hired a stripper instead. That scene was very funny because they saw in the person's description that they do not attend to kids, and automatically they thought that meant the hitman does not take out kids. When they finally had an encounter with the hitman, they tried to keep their names private, and as expected, they blew it as well.

You would think they would stop there after discovering the man they hired was not a hitman, but no, they did not. Rather, one of them, while on their way back home, asked the navigation system to direct them to the most dangerous neighbourhood with the hopes that they would be able to find the hitman they were looking for. When they got to the bar in the supposedly dangerous neighbourhood, they asked around, and they were thrown out. That is when Jamie Foxx walked up to them. Told them he was the man for the job.

Funny enough, Jamie just wanted their money, which he got, then he gave them the idea that they could take out each other's bosses and make it look like an accident. The character played by Jamie is one who killed me with laughter. How can you go around with the name Motherfucker Jones and still tell them it was given to you by your mom when you tried to rob her?
Horrible Bosses is not funny and unserious. It is something you could watch after a stressful day, right before you head off to bed.

This sounds like a super hilarious movie. I can already imagine the scene where they met with the stripper and figured out his description wasn't in the literal sense. It already tells me how much fun I'll have watching them go around in circles just to find a solution to their common problem.😂 I enjoy sitcoms that aren't series, so I'm definitely adding this to my list. Thanks!
I know now which movie I ll be watching tonight!
Thanks for the review and the suggestion!
Really? Do you like comedy movies?
Yes!! I don’t have much free time so, I usually prefer light films, good comedies and sometimes thrillers!

I remember seeing this movie several times on cable television a long time ago. I decided to watch it because it seemed fun, although many of its jokes are double entendres and there are scenes that are quite questionable. But even so, the plot really intrigued me. Who hasn't worked with a boss they disliked so much that they plotted his death?
At least many of us who are from this side of the pond have gone through something like that. The actors do their roles well, although I'm not very used to seeing them all the time, despite having many comedy films. I'm more old school, like comedies with Jim Carrey or Eddie Murphy. Likewise, the type of humor these actors work with is much better than the humor of today.
Excellent review.
Thank you!
Thank God, I'm seeing this review on a weekend 😁🎉
