Full First Year Completion
This will be the last post in this monthly series op keeping track of my progress here on Hive during the first year that I'm keeping this bog. It's been a blast and I do aim to keep this blog alive going forward even though it takes quite some effort. I really enjoy the community here (around Movies/Tv/Games) even though it's quite small and some of the best screentime I had came from recommendations that I picked up here which is great. Making reviews on everything that I watched also enhanced the overall experience and made many of it a bit more memorable while ginging myself a nice yearly overview.
Purely financially, keeping this blog has actually resulted in a loss as the 150 Hive I invested to get started which cost around 80$ at the time turned into 725 Hive which is worth only 75$ at the moment. The reality is that just too many here on Hive treat it as a cash cow without really willing to buy and Power Up much Hive as it's not needed to get curated which creates a constant sell pressure with smaller buy pressure which keep crushing the price.
December Screentime
I bought a Steamdeck To get back into gaming in 2026 (Link and so far mainly took some time to get some things installed while not really finding the time to play a lot. Aside from that, I watched 2 movies and completed 2 series.
Hive Posts in December
I managed to increase my numver to 6 posts but I managed to pick up some ok curation even though it was a lot less compared to November. The HBD from that month is still carrying me as it allows me to rent more Hive Power again
I still have 13+ Hive left along with some pending rewards to keep my upvote at least around 0.02$ so I can upvote comments without them getting removed by the dust threshold.

I did make some good progress picking up 5 more followers while adding 47HP to my Owned Hive Power. I also increased my engagement a bit again with 35 comments and seriously increased my Leased Hive Power to 4710. So overall a pretty good month.

I continue to mainly use https://hive.vote/ to cast auto-votes as nobody realistically has the time each day to go find 10+ posts manually to upvote. I didn't removed @k4rl4 but added 3 more just today with @thefed who has some good movies-related posts regularly, @beysyd who I also liked some recent posts from, & @fieryfootprints who I relate to as a gamer. The current curation APR shows only 6.21% which doesn't cover the cost of the leases but it might be influenced to the downside by extra delegations that recently were added.
The KE Ration also shows to be a broken metric as I'm at 1.15 while I haven't actually taken anything out. It sees selling HBD and using that to lease Hive power as 'value extraction' which isn't actually the case and I should be below 1 as I have put 150 Hive in without really getting anything out.
December 2025 Recap
I watched 2 great movies in November with (Wake Up Dead Man which I highly enjoyed and also an old christmas movie of 1940 which I have been wanting to see for a while in The Shop Around The Corner which reminded me that I should watch more of these old movies that get high ratings as they really scratch an itch for me. I also completed 2 Series with Pluribius which for me was the best new original series this year and Stranger Things which I'm glad is finally done now.
January 2026 Outlook
I have grown a bit of a tradition that in January, I check all the 'Top 2025 Movies" videos that YouTube throws at me to catch u with the ones that are praised accross the board along with the ones that look interesting to me. So far I already watched 6 of them with quite some more to go and starting from Monday I will be making reviews on each of them so there should be quite some content in January.
