πŸ““ October 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

This blog acts as a personal journal of all the movies, Tv-Shows, & Games I consume during a year which enhances my overall experience. The ratings that I give are fully based on my personal preference and enjoyment at the time of watching and I'm writing spoiler-free reviews.

Hive Blog Octover Situation

Right now, it's pretty much peak tv season so all of my screen time goes toward that but I have no real intention to start making posts just to make posts here on my blog covering some local Belgian Tv shows I watch 1 episode a week from which nobody interests. So the content has been at an all time low. I do still aim to get the number I movies that I watched in 2025 toward 50 (6 more) and I do plan to complete a full year of keeping track of my Hive Blog progress with these monthly posts.

Hive Posts in Octover

With just 3 posts it reamains hard to keep my Hive Power above the point where my upvote stays above the 0.02$ threshold as the Hive which now feels like a reward token which is printed out of nowhere, and gets dumped by all who are within the curation circle. It remains a model that has shown not to work and needs a ton of improvement which doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon.

One of the interesting parts of leasing Hive Power is that it manually needs to be taken back by the one who is leasing it to you. This causes a situation where you can get lucky for the delegation to stay on without paying for it. I now have 1490HP leased extra while I'm currently only paying for 180HP of that. In that regard, I'm still holding up despite the limited content.

10th Month Hive Progress

End September 2025End October 2025

I did get 2 more follower last month but my overall engagement and time with this account clearly has gone down along with my overall interest. One of the issues of hive is that it is extremely hard to get a feed that actually gives me the movies/Tv/Games content that I'm interested in and want to also curate. There is such a pressure to post daily and pump out content that 90% of it feels like it's just there to get the upvotes. It's also hard and time consuming to see who actually is good for the platform and not just extracting value that manual curation and just getting good content here is near impossible. There honestly are only a couple blogs that I really relate to and really like as something to actually read and get info from.

I also still use a https://hive.vote/ auto-upvote list so my voting doesn't go to 100% on days when I'm not around and I'm honestly more and more leaning to have enough people on there so manual curation becomes only an option. I didn't remove anyone last month and added some new account which before I always tended to upvote manually. Right now my Auto-Upvotes are going to @netflixr | @takeru255 | @incublus | @okarun | @bighungrypanda | @skiptvads | @slobberchops | @ocdb | @erigm | @bigtakosensei | @k4rl4 | @herosik| @marabuzal | and I'm still looking hard to add some more. The main things I look for is genuine content that is within the movies/tv/games communities with the users having a good enough KE Ratio, so no value extractors. This is a real challenge to find.

The current curation APR shows 8.46% which easily pays back the cost of the leases.

October 2025 Recap

I only watched 2 movies in September and more and more realize that I only really should be watching older ones as those are just much more likely to be really good. I really related to Good Will Hunting which was a chat GPT recommendation and to my surprise blew me away making me give it as high of a score as Paris, Texas giving it a 9.2/10. I also went to the cinema to One Battle After Another which I enjoyed watching but it didn't really stick to me making me score it just 6.7/10 as some aspects were just too weird to me.

November 2025 Outlook

We are already 13 days into November and I have yet to watch a movie. I am watching a ton of Belgian Tv shows, started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 again (only 16% complete) and also started watching Pluribus of which the first 2 epsiodes blew me away.

That's it for the October Recap!

Thank you for the recognition. I also appreciate "honest" and quality opinions, even if I disagree with them. :)

I really enjoy seeing your titles with the news in my feed alwas as a quick way to catch up!

I can also recommend this guy. I only browse selected articles, but he posts something every day. Mostly for fans of "good old cinema" ;), but not exclusively. @drax

I came across his account many times and followed him at the start while having him on my list but eventually removed him. It simply confuses me, on the one hand it's nice to see someone who has been here since 2017 still sticking to it and willing to hold Hive Power with a solid KE Ratio. At the same time, 7 posts now in 2 days feels like total overkill and more like content grinding while I can't imagine he watches everything as it all feels rather soulless.

I noticed he got targeted by hivewatchers with full downvotes on everything a while ago for spam which if it's all just generated by AI I would understand, but if he's actually writing it would be a total disgrace if he got flagged.Looks like he appealed and the flags stopped. He also hasn't made a single comment in an entire month. The fact that he has been here since 2017 while holding hive power with constant content but failed to pick up some auto-votes kind of indicates that I'm not the only one who evaluates his account and content like this.

So if I come across something from him that sparks my interest in the communities feed, I will check it and upvote manually.

To be honest, I agree that 3-4 posts a day is excessive. I think 1-2 are perfectly sufficient. As for the grind, I completely understand it, as I live in Poland and don't earn much from my "main job." On the other hand, such grinding is harmful to all of us at the end of the day. You don't necessarily have to watch it now; you can have a good memory and use your free time to write. As for the "Hive Guardians" – not all of their actions are good. I've fallen victim to them three times myself. Sometimes they're too radical.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games out there, enjoy it, man.

I've been playing Mortal Kombat 11 lately. I bought it on sale months ago but only just got around to playing it.

avatar

Unfortunately also one of the longer games. It took me a while and multiple attempts to really get me into it, but I feel now that I'm really getting started. Time though remains a massive issue.

Enjoy Mortam Kombat 11! I remember as a kid that I saved up to buy Mortal Combat for the Super Nintendo but when I went to the store they did not have it so I ended up taking Killer Instinct which afterward was a big lesson as I should just have waited instead of throwing all my savings at something else which at the time was really expensive but wasn't fully what I wanted.
