🎬 Modest Heroes (2018) | Beautifully Animate Short Films

Modest Heroes (7.0/10)
This is a featured film from 2018 that had a theater release in 2018 from Studio Ponoc who previously made Mary and the witch's Flower which I haven't watched yet. Their idea was to give more space to Anime short fims which brought about this anthology of three original shorts that had a similar topic of someone doing something heroic hence the name Modest Heroes. It's a really short film under 1 Hour as there was supposed to be a 4th short which didn't get finished as the one who was working on it sadly passed away.
Short Film #1: Kanini & Kanino
The first short is a story about 2 siblings who live underwater as tiny people. Their mother is away to give birth while their fater watches out for them. There is an event where the father gets taken away with the children going on a quest to find him. This one instantly set the tone when it came down to the quality of animation especially with the Flowing Water which looked stunning and the fish in the water also were impressive.
Short Film #2: Life Ain’t Gonna Lose
This is about a mother and a son who has a ver severe egg allergy and all the issues that come with that. I must say that it is the one that stuck the least with me
Short Film #3: Invisible
This one by far was the best of the 3 both from the animation and from the story and theme behind it. It's about an invisible guy who represents kind of a metaphore for loneliness and not being seen. He has a normal and drives to and from his work on his scooter. I'm not going to go in details to avoid spoilers as something something I wonder about got explained midway into it as something heppend which made this one really good in particular.

Conclusion
If you don't have much time but want to watch a couple beautifully animtaed short films with a similar theme who aside from that are all unique in their own way, Modest Heroes certainly is something I would recommend. Even though it didn't fully blew me away, I had a great time with it and a week later it kind of still stuck with me especially the last short with the invisible man. 7.0/10
