Now I remember when this show was all the rage back last year and I made a promise to myself to someday check it out, well I finally fulfilled that promise this last week 😃.

Plot

The Umbrella Academy is a family of adopted Superhumans who grew up in a toxic home.
When Number 5, who had gone missing for 17 years comes back in time with the news of an impending apocalypse, the siblings must put away their rivalries, brush of their differences and fight right past their limits to save the world.

Now this show is a real gem. A real prodigy of the famous, and heavily used time travel trope.
The amount of skill and uniqueness of the plot and story made the series incredibly enjoyable for one who may have started it with a critics mind, then for me who had an open mind, well it was just marvelous ✨

What I Liked

- The Characters 👫

"The characters are the backbones of every show."

This is something that I always say, this meaning that a boring story/show would have boring characters.
When the characters are robotic or aren't built up well, the emotions that they're meant to emit won't be portrayed clearly, no matter how good the actor who's playing that character is.
Regardless, the characters in this show were simply marvelous despite how plentiful they were.
A show that talks about space and time would clearly have a wide variety of characters and be able to input them in the correct point, this is a rather difficult task but The Umbrella Academy carried out this task wonderfully🔥

- The Cast 🎭

The Cast was marvelous, simply marvelous!
The characters potential were brought out by the great acting.
One in particular which I'm sure everyone who had watch the movie would agree on is the great number 5.
Aidan Gallagher had always been a good actor from his first major series in Nickelodeon's Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn and now he's really showing that skill in this lovely show.
Having the finesse to portray a cranky 50 something year old time Traveller in the body of a 15 year old boy in shorts and socks isn't something anybody can do😂.

- The Straightforwardness with the Time Trope

Now time trope as always is something that has been overused. Through trial and error, different shows have experimented on which part of this trope was well received by audiences, and which parts fell flat.
The umbrella academy could be said to be the culmination of all the well receivers, as they seem to only bring everything that makes sense on here.
From the Butterfly Effect to the Grandfather Paradox, all time mysteries and ideologies are brought on as either help or barriers for our superhero team to tackle and overcome.

- Realistic Fights

Now this show albeit it being a superhero show isn't one that's based on plot armor such that the heroes must always win.
It's more of a logical story in which the one that's most informed and most suited to the altercation or fight would come out on top.
Thus, the villians had great chances to win and probably would have, if not for slim instances of luck (which always happens in a fight btw😂). Despite that, it's refreshing to see a superheroes movie where the odds for either side winning aren't miles apart then get closed insurmountably with no valid or understandable reason..

Overall Review

This was a true delight to watch for me. An action series that'll keep you at the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next and how they'll react.
I totally loved it, and recommend it to those who are into superheroes and family movies.
Although it's a bit dicy in terms of violence and suggestive sexual contents, hence it's PG 16.
A true 9/10 stars show✨
