[ESP/ENG] Que buena esta la serie de: "Welcome to Derry"

No le tenía fe a esta serie, aunque me gusto más la primera parte de la película, en vez de la segunda parte no le daba ninguna esperanza a esta serie, pero me ha callado completamente la boca. Entreteniéndome más que algunas de las películas de terror que hayan salido este año.

I didn't have much faith in this series, although I liked the first part of the movie more than the second part. I had no hope for this series, but it has completely shut me up. It entertained me more than some of the horror movies that have come out this year.

Hace mucho compre el libro y siempre se me ha resistido para que lo pueda terminar de leer llegando cerca de la mitad, tal vez con esta serie me vuelva a inspirar para poder lograr terminar de leerlo (es que si está largo el libro)

I bought the book a long time ago and have always struggled to finish reading it, getting about halfway through. Perhaps this series will inspire me again to finish reading it (it is a long book).

Ambientándose en los años 60, donde el racismo está en todos lados, donde el odio está a la flor de piel, parece ser el caldo de cultivo perfecto para que Pennywise puede causar todo el terror que quiera, pues en una parte aprovechan este racismo para inculpar a una persona que no tenía nada que ver por una matanza, pero solo porque la gente solo quería inculparlo por ese racismo.

Set in the 1960s, where racism is everywhere and hatred runs high, it seems to be the perfect breeding ground for Pennywise to cause all the terror he wants, as in one part they take advantage of this racism to frame someone who had nothing to do with a massacre, but only because people wanted to blame him for that racism.

Además, recordemos que el propio Pennywise aparece cada 27 años y que en Derry pareciera que la gente olvida todas las atrocidades que pasan e incluso las ignoran o peor aún, pareciera que son usadas por el propio Pennywise para generar ese terror.

Aunque donde se está serie es material original, me gustaría saber que detalles tomaran del libro, por algunas partes en tiktok (me spolie un poco por ahí) dicen que si meterán el incendio del Black Spot, así que espero que pueda ver más detalles.

Los efectos visuales me han sorprendido y se ven grotescos, lo que irónicamente se me hacen geniales, pues hace que la ambientación y el terror que sienten los niños sea palpable.

The visual effects surprised me and look grotesque, which ironically I think is great, because it makes the atmosphere and the terror the children feel palpable.

En ocasiones siento que esta serie se inspiró un poco en Stranger Things para querer contar un poco el origen de Pennywise, pues pareciera que el ejército anda buscando un "arma" que se encuentra escondida en Derry, claro quiero suponer es que como tal la serie busca encontrarle un origen a Pennywise y al menos de esa forma es que quieren abordarlo, solo espero que este origen que le quieran dar valga la pena, pues recordemos que Pennywise es una entidad cósmica que llego a la tierra hace miles de años, entonces espero que le den origen digno.

Sometimes I feel like this series was inspired a little by Stranger Things in wanting to tell a bit about Pennywise's origin, as it seems that the army is looking for a “weapon” that is hidden in Derry. Of course, I want to assume that the series is looking to find an origin for Pennywise and that this is at least how they want to approach it. I just hope that this origin they want to give him is worthwhile, because let's remember that Pennywise is a cosmic entity that came to Earth thousands of years ago, so I hope they give him a worthy origin.

UPDATE NOTE: I've been working on this post for several days, and tonight I published it while watching the fourth episode, which mentioned Pennywise's origin. I liked the origin they gave him, just as it says in the book, being a creature alien to Earth. The series is very good.

Han salido una que otra escena donde se ve al payaso, pero aún no puedo decir si realmente es Bill Skarsgård o los efectos visuales, espero que pronto salga una escena concisa de él.

There have been a few scenes where the clown appears, but I still can't tell if it's really Bill Skarsgård or visual effects. I hope there will be a clear scene of him soon.

Se supone, o al menos tengo entendido, que Bill Skarsgård estará de regreso para esta serie, pero al menos en los cuatro capítulos que han salido no ha aparecido. Aunque en lo personal me gusta más la interpretación de Tim Curry (no sé si el factor nostalgia me afecte mucho), siento que Bill Skarsgård lo hizo excelente en las películas, por lo que me gustaría ver cómo se verá en la serie si es que sale.

It is assumed, or at least as far as I understand, that Bill Skarsgård will be back for this series, but at least in the four episodes that have been released, he has not appeared. Although personally I prefer Tim Curry's performance (I don't know if nostalgia is playing a big part in this), I feel that Bill Skarsgård did an excellent job in the films, so I would like to see how he will fare in the series if he does appear.
