Introduction

This is a movie review of Wonka which is a movie that was released this month. Wonka is starring Timothée Chalamet. I'm not sure how famous he is but he's also known for Interstellar and Dune. Wonka is a prequel to the previous Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which has two movies actually. One was in 1971 and there was one in 2005 as a remake. The genre of this movie is a musical, fantasy, drama type of movie in my opinion.

It was December 9 when I watched this movie with my cousin. I had a family dinner that day and after that movie there was some time at night so I decided I wanted to watch a movie. My cousin and I were looking for a movie to watch and we were stuck deciding whether to watch this movie or some Chinese movie I forgot the name of. Honestly, we went in watching this movie with low expectations. My cousin had super low expectations because he didn't like the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I had a mix of expectations because I was looking at the reviews and it seemd to have a mix of lovers and haters.

The movie ticket was RM20.50 for 1 Adult so for both of us it came out to RM41 which is around $9 USD. The movie runtime was just a bit under two hours. For those that are from Malaysia, I watched this at GSC Summit USJ.

My Thoughts On The Movie

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't super action packed. It was very different from the movies I normally watch. I believe the cast really pulled it off especially Timothée. Timothée really showcased his skills in this move with acting, singing and dancing. Then the supporting characters and the antagonists synergized with Timothée which made the movie fantastic.

I also loved the comedy parts slotted in. It gave it kind of a balance between serious and some good laughs. Another character I liked in the movie was the Oompa Loompa or they call him the green hair guy in the movie. He was super funny and I wish he had more scenes in the movie.

Another part of the movie I enjoyed was the character development. In this movie, you can see Wonka grow and learn more about how harsh the world is. You also get to see the bond he develops with Noodle one of the main supporting characters in the movie. Even Noodle grows a lot in this movie. She goes from a person with no hope and pretty much no life of her own to a person with hope and takes control of her own life instead of letting others control her life.

The movie also does teaches some life lessons that could be applied to real life like corporate greed through monopolizing so basically not having a free market to compete in. I also feel it teaches to not give up and keep trying to reach your goals because in the end of the movie Wonka finally achieved his goal. There's also a lesson of making sure you read everything you signed because you may regret it later.

I believe the most important lesson was building friendships and not being selfish hence the title and huge message of the movie "It's not the chocolate that matters, it's the people you share it with. In other words, sharing gives you that special feeling that makes the situation better and everyone happier.

Conclusion

If you like musical, fantasy with little bits of comedy and want something chill and easy to watch with your friends or family, this may be the movie for you. Just a bit of warning, there is a lot of singing but hey the songs are not too bad and I have to say the Oompa Loompa song is probably my favorite and most catchy song in the movie. I left a trailer below incase you're interested to see what it looks like.

By the way I plan on renting some summoners. which ones would you suggest? I think maybe SCARRED LLAMA MAGE, BYZANTINE KITTY and VALNAMOR? My best decks are death, water and earth.

avatar

woah ya if you have those you should just rent around them but they are a bit expensive to rent at silver. I recommend immortalis that should get you a lot of wins. valnamor is good too if u have ruler of the sea and other magic support. theres that magic reflect magic and the spirit miner is good get taht speed and magic blast

avatar

Immortalis is a god. just make sure to have mycelic infantry infront and he basically reduced any type of damge in half :D its kind of gross and u apir that with a healer he can tank a lot

I have high expectations for this production. I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I liked it, it was good although there were some things that I didn't like, like the Oompa Loompa musicals, I don't know but I didn't like them at all, but I enjoyed the rest. For this reason I want to know more about Willy Wonka's story and what better than this spin-off.

Regards

Yooooo don't put it too high haha . But this movie I think you will like it if you liked charlie and the chocolate factory. In this movie, I think it gives a great connection about how the golden tickets came to be. You'll have to watch to find out~ and ya you will know more about his story definitely and how he came to be . thanks for reading and stopping by!
