It's simply sensational, when I saw the @cinetv (with the partnership of @risingstargame) post that invited us to post about a song that has been in a movie, and immediately, I couldn't help but think of a song that since I heard it for the first time, it was so powerful that I liked it right away. It's so iconic that it's considered one of the happiest songs ever, oh yeah.

Of course it is the iconic voice of someone I consider the best voice in rock, who gives life to this powerful song from the 1978 album "Jazz". Of course I'm talking about QUEEN's "Don't stop me now", performed by the one and only Freddie Mercury.

With a soft beginning on the piano, Freddie introduces us to the song to then be fully introduced with John Deacon's bass and Roger Taylor's drums, it immediately transports you quickly to a sea of great emotions with a great lyric that clearly stays in your head along with the wonderful melody that only QUEEN can do, to finally reach its peak with a drum solo by Brian May.

Named by some as the happiest song ever (although others lean more towards "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra ), even "The best driving song ever", "Don't stop me now" has been pleasantly used to be part of movie productions because of its moving and unmatched rhythm.

Being so cool so far that it was used in the following feature films:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
  • Shazam (2019)
  • Video Games: The Movie (2014)
  • Game Night (2018)
  • Shaun of the Dead (2004)
  • Friends... (2011)
  • Notte Prima Degli Esami (2006)
  • Hardcore Henry (2015)
  • Animal Crackers (2017)
  • Space Riders (1984)
  • Breaking and Entering (2017)
  • Blackball (2003)
  • Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

Of course, the film "Bohemian Rhapsody" stands out, which gave an academy award to Rami Malek for impersonating "Mr. Fahrenheit", of course, it was a short biopic of the band and Freddie Mercury.

However, other notable titles on this list such as "Shazam", and "Shaun of the Dead", and even "Sonic the Hedgehog", managed to include this wonderful song within their scenes.

For that and many other reasons, my candidate to be the song of this contest, is without a doubt, "Don't stop me now" by QUEEN.

Bonus
I could not overlook that, despite talking about songs used in movies, I could not ignore the fact that for the Netflix series "Umbrella Academy", the song was used for a very cool action scene that "Number 5" gave us, without a doubt, a very well used resource.

Thank you very much for reading my post, let's rock!

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. Well, a lot of Queen songs are, but this one is a cheer-up for my mood. :)

Now that is interesting to find a great song so widely used in films! I thought Shaun of the dead immediately!
