Midnight Prompt 11: GOT is my GOAT

Hi there,

I had to share my greatest series for the midnight prompt of the Greatest Series of ALL Time. It is straightforward for me, given that I am a fan of fantasy series, especially the ones with arcade settings, like Vikings, Spartacus, Rome,, and many more like that. Despite the numerous ones I have seen in the past, my G.OA.T remains Game of Thrones.

To understand why this series is the greatest for me, first, you have to understand how I got to know about the series. A unique thing my uncle and I had in common is our love for movies. We can go on and on about how different a particular character was from another and how we both shared different opinions about a particular scene from a movie. One of the movies we shared a lot in conversation was Game of Thrones. During a summer break from school, which I spent at his place, he told me about the series and promoted the series well to me, down to the point where I had no choice but to give the movie a shot.

Power by all means

I started with the first season right away, and I got bored because things were moving slowly. At some point, I wanted to give up on it, but then my uncle struck again and said just continue. He added you have to be patient with series, try the first season at least, but you give up. Finally, the first tragedy struck. Ned Stark died. Ned, my hero and the one I was rooting for. At this point, I knew George RR Martin was a twisted writer filled with unpredictability. You might think things are heading towards one direction, and then he takes it to a whole different level.

The unpredictability of the movie and how every character, especially the Starks, is what makes this series so good. After Ned's death, I had to look for a new Stark to pour on my support and love, as a member of the Stark clan. At the time, Sansa was still pretty much naive and a slow learner, but she learnt the hard way in the end, but it was already too late, Arya had take my support. Her character development throughout the series makes me enjoy the show even more. A woman with many faces.

You cannot leave out how successful and life-changing the series was for everyone, the fans, and most especially the actors. Jon Snow got married to the wildling girl in real life, Daenyrs gain a huge fandom, and Cersei has moved on to more impressive roles, like The Abandons, one of the movies topping on Netflix. The success of Game of Thrones has spread far and wide, down to its spin-offs as well, House of Dragons and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, coming in 2026.

I am glad I listened to my uncle's recommendation. There are even more reasons why this series is goated; it is just different for everyone.
