RE: Childhood memories: Getting dropped off at the cinema on Saturday afternoons

Nice memories of your childhood and the movies, I think we are from the same era I also lived something similar, I remember buying candy at my local store and taking it to the movies hidden because the ones there were very expensive.

I have about two years without going to the movies, the last time I went to see Barbie just to take an aunt who is special down syndrome, but the movie experience is nice.

Your post made me remember my first movie experience, made me want to write a post about it. 😊😉.

I also think the world of the 80's was less dangerous than today.

the 80's definitely were safer. I remember running around on my bicycle and just exploring and my parents had no idea where i was. I just needed to be back home once the street lights turned on. We never worried about getting kidnappend and molested or something like that because the world just wasn't like that. The worst thing that would ever happen would be getting into a little scuffle with another kid somewhere but normally those were resolved, strangely, like men rather than boys, and probably becoming friends afterwards.

These days it seems like kids face a whole slew of dangers that as far as I could tell, didn't exist in the 80's.
