The photographer of Mauthausen knew the importance of photos because a picture is worth a thousand words and in this publication I will review what this film transmitted to me.
A few days ago I saw a movie starring the actor Mario Casas of which I did a review and I have become a fan of this actor, I do not know what world I was in, I did not know him, I am one of those who enjoy the story without stopping in the actors, the costumes, or the direction, coincidentally this actor also stars in this The photographer of Mauthausen and it was a surprise when I saw him in it, it made me think it was going to be good and I was not wrong.
This is a biographical film that tells the story of a young Spanish Francisco Boix who was captured by German troops and taken to the concentration camp of Mauthausen, Austria during the Second World War, they were banished from Spain and their nationality was taken away leaving the Nazis to use them as they wished, When he was 20 years old, he already had knowledge of photography, a passion that his father, who was a tailor, inherited and used this skill to survive. Thanks to his prowess, there is a photographic record of that time that served to bring justice and that humanity would not forget the facts that were committed there.
Francisco, characterized by Mario Casas, worked in the identification service area to register and document everything that happened in the camp, his occupation was to register the people who arrived, assigning them a number and taking photographs, in addition to serving as a photographer at family reunions and parties of high-ranking military personnel, he was the right hand of the head of the identification service. This job was privileged compared to those who had to work in the quarry, who died exhausted or crushed by the large rocks. This man was very astute, he learned to speak German, which gave him an advantage when it came to communicating.
The people in the camp were organized by color, the first to arrive were the criminals, rapists and murderers, they were assigned the green triangle, the political prisoners or those without a country were assigned the blue triangle where Francisco is, they were just a number.
"Reality does not exist, it only depends on the point of view" is one of the phrases he learned from his boss in the camp, who was the one who arranged the scenery and made up the reality, creating illusions of non-existent facts such as that the prisoners played chess and recreated being there.
La fotografía es un arte que no morirá y la tecnología ha permitido que la hagamos parte de nuestra vida, queremos inmortalizar cada paso que damos y nuestros momentos felices, pero que hay de nuestras tristezas, del caos y de la guerra, también forma parte de la vida. El fotógrafo de Mauthausen sabía la importancia de las fotos porque una imagen vale más que mil palabras y en esta publicación reseñaré lo que me transmitió esta película.
Hace unos días vi una película protagonizada por el actor Mario Casas de la que hice una reseña y me he convertido en fans de este actor, no sé en qué mundo estaba metida, que no lo conocía, soy de las que disfruta la historia sin detenerse en los actores, el vestuario, o la dirección, casualmente este actor también protagoniza esta El fotógrafo de Mauthausen y fue una sorpresa cuando lo vi en ella, me hizo pensar que iba a ser buena y no me equivoque.
Esta es una película biográfica que cuenta la historia de un joven español Francisco Boix que fue capturado por las tropas alemanas y llevado al campo de concentración de Mauthausen, Austria durante la segunda guerra mundial, fueron desterrados de España que les arrebataron la nacionalidad dejando que los nazis los usaran como quisieran, a sus 20 años ya tenía conocimiento de fotografía pasión qué heredero su padre que era sastre esa habilidad la uso para poder sobrevivir y que gracias a sus proezas existe el registro fotográfico de esa época que sirvió para hacer justicia y que la humanidad no olvidara los hechos que allí se cometieron.
Francisco caracterizado por Mario casas trabajaba en el área de servicio de identificación para registrar y documentar todo lo que sucedía en el campo, su ocupación era de registrar a las personas que iban llegando asignándoles un número y tomándole fotografías, además de servir de fotógrafo en las reuniones familiares y fiestas de los militares de alto rango, era la mano derecha del jefe del servicio de identificación. Este trabajo era privilegiado en comparación a los que les tocaba la cantera, que morían exhaustos o aplastados por las grandes rocas. Este hombre era muy astuto, aprendió hablar alemán, lo que le daba una ventaja a la hora de comunicarse.
Las personas en el campo las organizaban por colores, los primeros en llegar eran los delincuentes, violadores y asesinos, les asignaban el triángulo color verde a los presos políticos o los sin patria les correspondía el triángulo azul en donde está Francisco, ellos eran solo un número.
“La realidad no existe, solo depende del punto de vista” es una de las frases que aprendió de su jefe en el campo, que era quien arreglaba la escenografía y maquillaba la realidad, creando ilusiones de hechos inexistentes como que los presos jugaban ajedrez y se recreaban estando allí.

Francisco was very prudent, I put myself in his place and I would not have lasted two days, he knew how to communicate with the Nazis and get favors, to the point of earning intimate visits with another prisoner they prostituted, he helped the others by getting them a better landlord or place to live by serving in the houses of the military. He learned of a conspiracy to save lives in the ID registry and became part of this group that I won't give details so as not to spoil, then these same men helped him with an idea more ambitious than saving lives, you ask what is more important than that? And that is to do justice, to transcend in history and to force people not to forget what man is capable of doing for power and ambition.
This gave him a reason to live, a purpose to take revenge without getting his hands dirty, but he could not do it alone, he needed many people to back him up, people he trusted who dared to put his life in danger for that cause, he got them and for years he preserved a treasure for humanity, constantly changing location so that you would not find the evidence, in this case the negatives, A painful trace that will not be forgotten or distorted, that is real and immobile and that shows a reality that did happen and is part of history, he convinced his companions saying "nobody will believe you if they don't see it" and he was right, years after the war ended in the XXI century there were people who dared to say that all this was false and that these photos did not exist and that they are a montage.
Podemos ver como Francisco y todos los que lo rodeaban sobrevivieron, intentando mejorar su existencia con el intercambio de favores, contrabandeando artículos como cigarrillos, zapatos, e información, para poder coexistir y prosperar, tenían su propio código de supervivencia es así como las comunidades se mantienen vivas y prosperan, pero no me malinterpreten no estoy apoyando el contrabando me refieren a la cooperación, sin ir muy lejos como ejemplo tenemos a hive todos los creadores de contenido en su mayoría votan a otros, están los administradores de comunidades que son los que vigilan que las normas se cumplan. Volviendo a la película hacer estas actividades eran muy riesgosas, tenían que tener mucha cautela, equivocarse, era una muerte segura.
Francisco era muy prudente, me pongo en su lugar y no hubiera durado dos días, él sabía comunicarse con los nazis y conseguir favores, hasta el punto de ganarse visitas íntimas con otra presa que prostituían, ayudaba a los demás al conseguirles un mejor dueño o lugar para vivir sirviendo en las casas de los militares. Él se enteró de una conspiración para salvar vidas en el registro de identificación y formo parte de este grupo que no daré detalles para no spoilear, luego estos mismos hombres le ayudaron con un una idea más ambiciosa que la de salvar vidas, ¿te preguntaras que es más importante que eso? Y es la de hacer justicia, trascender en la historia y obligar a la gente a no olvidar lo que el hombre es capaz de hacer por poder y ambición.
Francisco descubrió negativos de fotos que él no había sacado y que de alguna forma las estaban ocultando, esto le dio una razón para vivir, un propósito de vengarse sin ensuciarse las manos, pero él no podía solo, necesitaba de mucha gente que lo respaldara, personas de confianza que se atrevieran a poner su vida en peligro por esa causa, las consiguió y por años preservo un tesoro para la humanidad cambiando constantemente de ubicación para que no encontraras las pruebas en este caso los negativos, una huella dolorosa que no será olvidada ni tergiversada, que es real e inmóvil y que muestra una realidad que si paso y forma para de la historia, convención a sus compañeros diciéndoles “nadie los creerá si no lo ve” y estaba en lo cierto, años después de que la guerra terminara en pleno siglo XXI hubo personas que se atrevieron a decir que todo eso era falso y que esas fotos no existieron que son un montaje.

I'm glad I watched The Photographer of Mauthausen in the comfort of my home on Netflix and the internet connection failed, that gave me some pauses to breathe and organize my heart rate, I felt too much pressure in my chest, too much anguish, every moment I felt I could lose my life literally left me breathless, my family asked me at every weird if I was ok, I don't know what sounds I made but it scared them. It is not a drama movie to cry desperately, although I did release my tears at the end, it is a movie of determination, companionship, friendship, will, courage, life purpose and focus.
In the end many emotions together, the best movies are the ones that come out of real life because reality surpasses fiction, in my eyes there was a detail that I noticed and it was that the leading actor Mario casas had his braces (orthodontics) in one of the scenes, maybe this will take away some award.
The soundtrack was perfect, making the viewer live an immersion in the most shocking scenes, both in the gloomy and in the moments of joy. I say goodbye thanking you for getting this far, it was a little long review, but it is a film that can not be reviewed in 300 or 500 words. I give it a score of 10 out of 10 and I recommend it to you. It was nominated for many awards and won some of them, for me it is an excellent production that you have to see.
Me alegra haber visto El fotógrafo de Mauthausen en la comodidad de mi hogar por Netflix y que la conexión de internet fallara, eso me dio algunas pausas para respirar y organizar el ritmo de mi corazón, sentí mucha presión en mi pecho, demasiada angustia, cada momento sentía que podía perder la vida literalmente me dejaban sin aliento, mi familia me preguntaba a cada raro si estaba bien, no sé qué sonidos hacía pero los asustaba. No es una película de drama para llorar desesperadamente, aunque si solté mis lágrimas al final, es una película de determinación, compañerismo, amistad, voluntad, valentía, propósito de vida y enfoque.
Al final muchas emociones juntas, las mejores películas son las que salen de la vida real porque la realidad supera a la ficción, a mis ojos hubo un detalle que percibí y fue que al actor protagonista Mario casas se le vieron los frenos dentales (ortodoncia) en una de las escenas, tal vez esto le resto algún premio.
La banda sonora fue perfecta, haciendo que el espectador viviera una inmersión en las escenas más impactantes, tanto en lo lúgubre como en los momentos de alegría. Me despido agradeciendo que llegaras hasta aquí, fue un poco larga la reseña, pero es una película que no se puede reseñar en 300 o 500 palabras. Le doy una puntuación 10 de 10 y se las recomiendo. Fue nominada a muchos premios y gano algunos, para mí es una excelente producción que tienes que ver.

Good movie with Mario Casas. He is one of my favorite Spanish actors. The story is based on real events, the photographs served as evidence to convict several Nazis who were tried after the war.
That's right, I really liked the creativity that these men had in order to achieve their goal and how the passion for an art form can be stronger than one's own survival instinct.
The main character is a tremendous actor, I'm already a fan.

Estás películas de la segunda guerra mundial me hacen sufrir, creo que no soy buena viendo gente sufriendo, pero de igual manera me causa interés verla.
Este actor últimamente se está haciendo famoso, yo no he visto ninguna de sus películas. Leí tu última reseña de una película con él.
Puedes verla con tranquilidad porque no tiene el drama que uno se imagina, no te hará llorar, es bonita por el sentido de amistad.
Si de verdad que es un tremendo actor.

La trama es interesante según cuentas, esa etapa fue muy difícil, con la Alemania Nazi, me imagino la incertidumbre y la angustia del fotógrafo en ese ambiente tan inhóspito. Mario Casas tiene años en la televisión, es muy guapo, jeje, y ha protagonizado series como el Barco y películas como tres metros sobre el cielo 1 y 2.
