The Wolf's Daughter - La Hija del Lobo || Review and Opinion

If you follow me, you should know that I don't have human children 😆, and I emphasise human, because I consider myself the mother of my dogs, and as a woman who loves her pets and younger siblings, I have an idea of what a mother feels for her children: a love that is indescribable. This type of love, capable of breaking down barriers and facing any danger to defend her child, is the subject of The Wolf's Daughter, the film I am reviewing today.
Starring Gina Carano, an actress I had never seen before, she played Clair Hamilton, a high-ranking military officer who was on a mission far from home and when she returns, she learns that her father has died and she has to deal with her only son, a 13-year-old teenager who disobeys her and constantly challenges her authority. Believe it or not, it is common to see women with leadership skills and strong characters who have rebellious and undisciplined children. I found the scenes that reflected this to be very genuine.
Clair has not yet come to terms with the twists and turns of her life when she learns that her father had a lot of money and that she and her son are heirs, which is why her son is kidnapped. From there, the search and confrontation with the kidnappers begins. The initial scenes were action-packed and very tense, I found them very appealing because it was like watching an athletic, fit woman fearlessly confront two men in order to get her son back. She shot them, chased them in a van and crashed into them, all within a few minutes of the film starting and in a freezing environment, in snow-covered mountains that made any escape difficult.
The entire film was shot in that same environment because it represented the coldness of a kidnapping, the cruelty of the person who organised it, and the toughness of an enraged mother searching for her son. It is a film with few characters: simply the mother Clair, her son, and a small group of kidnappers, some young people who were following the orders of an older man they called "Father". After the first half, it becomes clear that these kidnappers had been children kidnapped by that man, who indoctrinated them to do what he wanted and forced them to call him Father. In reality, that group were victims of that man.

Si me sigues, debes saber que no tengo hijos humanos 😆, y recalcó humanos, porque me considero madre de mis perritos, y como una mujer que ama a sus mascotas y hermanos menores, tengo una idea de lo que siente una madre por sus hijos: un amor es indescriptible. Sobre este tipo de amor, capaz de derribar barreras y enfrentarse a cualquier peligro por defender a su hijo, se trata La hija del Lobo, película que hoy reseño.Protagonizada por Gina Carano una actriz que nunca había visto, ella encarnó a Clair Hamilton una militar de alto rango que estaba en una misión lejos de casa y cuando regresa se entera de que su padre ha fallecido y le toca lidiar con su único hijo, un adolescente de 13 años que no la obedece y desafía su autoridad constantemente. Aunque parezca mentira, es común ver a mujeres con liderazgo y un fuerte carácter, tener hijos rebeldes e indisciplinados. Las escenas que reflejaban esto las sentí muy genuinas.
Clair no ha terminado de aceptar los giros de su vida cuando se entera de que su padre tenía mucho dinero y que ella y su hijo son herederos, motivo por el cual secuestran a su hijo y desde allí comienza la búsqueda y enfrentamiento con los secuestradores, las escenas iniciales fueron de acción y mucha tensión, me resultaron muy atractivas porque era ver una mujer atlética y en forma enfrentarse sin ningún miedo a dos hombres con tal que le entregaran a su hijo, los baleó, los persiguió en una camioneta y los chocó, todo esto a los pocos minutos de empezar y bajo un ambiente gélido, en montañas cubiertas de nieve dificultando cualquier escape.
Toda la película estuvo filmada en ese mismo ambiente, porque representaba la frialdad de un secuestro, la crueldad de quien lo organizó y la dureza de una madre enfurecida buscando a su hijo. Es una película con pocos personajes, simplemente era la madre Clair, su hijo, y un pequeño grupo de secuestradores algunos jóvenes que estaban siguiendo las órdenes de un hombre mayor que llamaban “Padre”, después de la primera mitad es que sale a relucir que estos secuestradores habían sido niños secuestrados por ese hombre y los adoctrinaba para que hicieran lo que él quería y los obligaba a llamarlo Padre, en realidad ese grupo eran víctimas de ese hombre.
Some characters were better developed than others, the performances were very good, the pace between action and calm was very fast, I feel that there were gaps in some dialogues where I had to pause the film and sometimes rewind to understand what was happening, also as a result of all the events that were taking place because I felt that the director wanted to clarify the stories of the characters involved in the action. I don't know if it was due to lack of time or budget, but everything was very rushed, which bothered me a little, but I kept watching because the suspense was maintained. The ending was expected, but unexpected 🤣😂 I don't know how to explain it, I mean, the final scene was dramatic and surprising, even though you knew how it would end from the beginning.
Despite the negative things I mentioned, it's a good film. It mixes a credible plot with some fantasy, as the protagonist is in a way saved by nature and the wolves help her in this process. It's a film faithful to the thriller and action genre, released in 2019. I saw it last year, and it was on my list of reviews to do. I'm surprised I still remember it.

Algunos personajes estuvieron mejor desarrollados que otros, las actuaciones estuvieron muy buenas, el ritmo entre la acción y la calma fue muy rápido, siento que hubo vacíos en algunos diálogos donde tuve que parar la película y a veces retroceder para entender lo que pasaba, también producto de todos los eventos que pasaban porque sentí que la dirección quería aclarar las historias de los personajes envueltas en la acción, no sé si por falta de tiempo o presupuesto, pero todo fue muy apresurado, eso me molestó un poco, pero seguía viendo porque el suspenso se mantenía, el final fue el esperado, pero inesperado 🤣😂 no sé cómo explicarme, es decir la escena final fue dramática y sorpresiva aunque desde el inicio se sabía su final.A pesar de las cosas negativas que mencioné es una buena película, mezclan un argumento creíble con algo de fantasía, ya que la protagonista en cierta forma es salvada por la naturaleza y los lobos la ayudan en este proceso, es una película fiel al género de thriller y acción, publicada en el 2019 y yo la vi el año pasado, estaba en mi lista de reseñas por hacer, me sorprende que aún la recuerde.

Hola. De la manera en que narras, llama la atención. Saber si uno puede captar todo lo que pasa sin perderse.
Además en ocaciones uno busca algo que ver y no sabe, tener está presente con esta reseña ayuda a poner la en la lista para ver.

The plot looks super interesting, especially considering what you said about the mix of raw action with the nature and wolf aspects. I'm curious to see how they handle that aspect of the story. Although what you said about the dialogue and the slightly accelerated pace makes me a little skeptical.
