Hello friends, a big hug for all, today in this section of cinemania I bring you a movie a little out of the ordinary, is a tape that has horror, but also a lot of comedy, I think more comedy than anything else, I talk about the movie that in the 90's captivated us with his cartoon on TV, I talk about a unique ghost, he is BEETLEJUICE.

Beetlejuice

This is a movie from the 80's, a comedy that for the time caused a bit of fear for its characters, very exaggerated and with a look out of the ordinary, ghosts everywhere. The film is a work of art and today is a cult movie, like almost all the movies made by the spectacular director TIM BURTON.

BEETLEJUICE

Plot:
The story begins when a young couple move into their new house, but unfortunately they die in a traffic accident and they are trapped in their house as ghosts. Because of this their house is put up for sale and after a few years a new yorki family buys the property and move in, they are the "Deetz" family, they are Charles Deetz his wife Delia Deetz and their daughter who is a girl with a gothic style and a very sad attitude Lydia Deetz. The original owners being ghosts being in the house, they get angry and not being able to get the new family out of their house, they ask for help to this grotesque ghost called "Beetlejuice" who with his tricks and acts not authorized by the ghost council, does everything possible to get the Deetz family out of the house, however he meets Lydia and terror begins to be unleashed in this house.

Main characters:
The main protagonists of this film are: the actor "Michael Keaton" who plays the main character Beetlejuice, and the girl "Winona Ryder" who plays the character of Lydia Deetz, among other actors in the film are "Alec Baldwin", "Geena Davis", "Catherine O'Hara".

Release date:
The film was released on March 30, 1988, in the United States, its budget was about 15 million dollars collecting 74 million dollars only in the United States, being a success at the box office in theaters. Although it was a success at the box office, the film over time has been somewhat forgotten, becoming a cult film, giving it the value over time only fans of this type of film, and especially fans of director TIM BURTON. It is worth mentioning that the film won an Oscar for best make-up in 1989.

Director:
The director of the film is none other than the great TIM BURTON this film director who has a unique style of filming in his style, always with his own touch in the films, you notice is gothic and gloomy style, as well as the animations and the use of Stop Motion in many of his films, in this tape you see a lot of that style of animation. TIM is undoubtedly a genius of cinema and animation.

Producer:
The producers of the film were "Michael Bender" "Richard Hashimoto" "Larry Wilson" these three producers were in charge of the entire production of the film. Larry Wilson worked in movies like "The Little Vampire" and also worked in series like "The Adams Family", he is also a well known writer of novels. "Richard Hashimoto is also known for working on the "Young Scissorhands" tapes with Burton among others.

Screenplay:
The script of the film was originally written by "Michael McDowell" who then joined him to rewrite the script was also the producer "Larry Wilson", then also write also the same "Tim Burton" and by creative differences Tim himself replaced the first two screenwriters by "Warren Skaaren". All these writers gave life to the movie and the character.

Soundtrack:
The music of the movie was in charge of the musician "Danny Elfman" who is an American composer and singer-songwriter, he is recognized for being the founder of the band "new wave Oingo Boingo", he has also worked in the music of Tim Burton's movies and the director "Sam Raimi" He is recognized for making the famous song of the series of "The Simpsons". In the movie Beetlejuice, he did a great job, giving the film a unique soundtrack that brings us into the plot along with each scene.

Visual effects:
The special effects were in charge of "Bo Welch" who at the time of working on the film was little known, being this the film that opened the way for him to work in other productions with Tin Burton as in the film "Young Scissorhands" and "Batman Returns". The visual effects are very much in Stop Motion Animation.

Curious facts:
A curious fact is that in one of the scenes allusion is made to flight 409, in 1955 a flight crashed killing all its passengers, this is flight 409. The scene is where barbara and adam wait in an office and hear a message announcing the arrival of flight 409.
Another curiosity is that the actor Michael Keaton was inspired by the character of Chop Top from the movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2", to give life to "BEETLEJUICE".

Based on:
The movie is not based on anything, it is an original story by Tim Burton and the character is created entirely by director Burton. Creating a unique story in his style, and a unique and original character, Tim is a great artist who has created many characters in his career.

Criticism:
The reviews are divided, there are those who say that the film is very dark and irrelevant to the plot, is very null, and could have done better, and the positive ones say that the plot is good, and highlight the performances of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder. They also highlight the visual effects that for its time were not great effects but the Stop Motion animation gives the style that Burton sought for the film. In this case it is up to the audience to decide whether they like the film or not.

Opinion:
In particular I like the movie, it is not my favorite but I like it, I find it entertaining, I like the performance of Winona Ryder, the makeup is great. The character as realized is great. Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors, I love all his movies. Beetlejuice is a work of art and over time the public has made it a cult film for lovers of films with black humor. It should also be said that I liked much more the cartoon they made about the character, I think I liked this one much more than the movie, although the film is still entertaining.

Conclusion:
To conclude, in this film stands out more than all the Stop Motion animation and makeup which won an Oscar in 89, the characters are well realized and the actors excel in their roles, but if it lacked a bit of history to the characters, a more exciting plot. It is worth mentioning that next year there will be a sequel to the movie, we hope it will be spectacular as everything Tim Burton brings us.
